    1. [KYKNOX] Sarah Herndon and Randolph Adams
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: borboletas Surnames: Herndon , Adams Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.knox/9281/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Sarah Herndon was born the 11th of November, 1776 in Henry County, Virginia. On the 12th of February, 1801, she married Randolph Adams (b. Henry County, 1768) Lately, it has appeared on the web that she is the daughter of Benjamin Herndon and Rosana Wade. Has anyone any proof of this, please? A will of Benjamin's or Rosana's or of Rosana's second husband, David Mullins? Sarah and Randolph DID travel to Kentucky in abt. 1807 with Richardson Herndon and his two sisters, one of whom was named Susannah (at least two of these three were definitely the children of Benjamin Herndon). A child of Sarah's was named Richardson and a child of Richardson's was named Randolph. A child of Sarah and Randolph did marry a child of Richardson. But nowhere can I find anything that says Sarah and Richardson or Sarah and Susannah were siblings, or that the children who married were cousins. The "Knox County, Kentucky History", by Elmer Decker, mentions nearly all of these people, but not Sarah. The typescript on the Adams family by George Madison Adams, a grandchild of Sarah and Randolph, discusses all of the above, without ever saying that Sarah Herndon was of the same family as Richardson and Susannah Herndon. So, who was she? Any help much appreciated. Thank you Anna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Am looking for info on an EVANS family from Knox Co. They appeared in census from 1900 to 1930. Parents were James Brit & Sydney J. Children included Mary, Cora, Benjamine, Exter, Charley, Nellie & Louie. Am particularly interested in a Cora EVANS - possibly the one in this family - who went on to have quite a number of children with a couple of different men. (DAVIS/DAVIDSON) If anyone ties in to the family listed above, or has any info on their descendants, or on Cora, please let me know. Thanks, Jan
