RESPONSE: Hi, You have probably been trying to figure this out for some time. I can show you what I am seeing and what it points to but cannot tell you WHY the name changes take place. Remember, this is a guess on my part. I could be way, way off!! Clay Co. Marriage Index: TEAGUE, Nasby to BROCK, Mary married on May 16, 1912 - File 36 NOTE: Have you ordered their marriage record to see what, if anything, it might say? I also noted in the majority of the death certificates for Nasby TEAGUE, it showed he was born in Clay Co., KY so I checked out all the TEAGUES in Clay and Knox Co.'s. When I hit the 1930 Knox Co., KY Fed. Census, I ran into this: Dwelling 160-160 TEAGUE, Wesley, mar. at 27, age 42, b. KY; parents b. KY . .Mary H., 33, wife, mar. at 17, b. KY . .Bessie, 11, dau, b. Cottongim Cemetery Nancy Teague (d. 26 Sept 1931) - buried Dozier Cemetery Boyd Teague (d. 22? I'm trying to fit them into my Teague and Brock lines, but can't make a connection. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Donna Brock McDermit Greencastle, IN

Samuel Thomas, I have him as being born approxamately 1825 in Virginia. Samuels wife is Nancy, I do not know her last name, Her approxamated birth date is 1830 in north Carolina They are in the 1860 Census in Owsley County, Kentucky with their children, Samuel Thomas 35 nancy N 30 Sarah E 12 Minerva 9 George 7 Leander 3 Then I find them in the 1870 Census In Knox County, Ky without Samuel, Nancy is alone with the children Nancy Thomas 42 Occupation-farmer George 17 Leander 15 Franklin 9 Martha 5 Then in 1880 in Knox county, Ky married to Joseph Hubbard Joseph Hubbard 65 Nancy Hubbard wife Mariah Hubbard, 50 sister to head of household George Thomas 25 stepson Martha Thomas 14 Stepdaughter I know that there are discepencies with census records, but I believe this nancy Thomas and Nancy Hubbard were the same woman. I think her maiden last name Might be Snow. Nancy and Samuels son George, eventually moved to Perry Co. Ky, I found a death cert. that could be him, and the mothers maiden name is listed as Snow. I am not positive that this is his death cert. Is anybody else related to this family that I could talk to, that has more info. I am not having luck with finding marriages on ancestry.com Mary Ann Tuttle and James Kirby on the Rootsweb site for Knox County, it has the date listed as May 22, 1860. The information that I am wanting is to see if Their parents names are listed, and who they are for both Mary Ann and James.
