    1. [KYKNOX] Knox County Cemetery Books
    2. Ed Elam
    3. The Knox County Cemetery books were originally put together by the Knox County Genealogical Society. The Knox County Genealogical society also offered several good research books. The ladies that headed up the Society retired from those duties a couple of years ago. The publications they had were to go to the Knox County Historical Society which were supposed to continue offering them. Unless the Knox County Historical Society has started selling them, you probably won't be able to find them. Even though they are a still a good research tool they didnt have all of the cemeteries in Knox County listed. There was another set of cemetery books that were compiled by local kids as a class project I believe back in the 1980s. These probably stiil didnt have all of the cemeteries listed but they covered most of them. I dont know if this set is still available, if it is I would like to know where to get them. 3. Hey Sherman, it's me - Anita. My grandmother used to live a little piece down the hill from a cemetery. If you went past the chicken house, about fifty feet, more or less, was a cemetery. I believe they called it the Powers Cemetery. Right off of 225 - you could see it off the road. Mammie's house has been torn down for at least fourteen years or so. There is also another cemetery that isn't in the books, and that is Tinsley, also off of 225, going further south. It is next to a white church, and the cemetery is on the side of a hill. Getting and sharing the names and dates of the people buried there is on my "to do" list, but I don't see it being done anytime soon.
