    1. Cemeteries?
    2. Joyce Collins
    3. RESPONSE: I do not see William MEANS in any of the cemetery books I have. That is not to say he is not buried in Knox Co. It may simply mean that he is in one of the cemeteries not listed in the books or he has an unmarked grave. Your William MEANS death record appears to be as follows from the KY Death CD Index: MEANS, William, d. 12-5-1933 in Knox Co.; Vol. 060, Cert #29698 at the age of 77 years. NOTE: You can order his death certificate for $1.50 by going to: http://chesterward.freeyellow.com If you are fortunate, the death cert will tell who the undertaker was and often tells which cemetery the burial was to be in. It all depends upon who the informant was for the information provided when the death cert was prepared. Is this your William MEANS as of 1910? Dwelling 0054 Dwelling 0223 - - Clay Co. 3. RESPONSE: Based upon your additional information that he married a Martha, this might be them: Dwelling 327-334 LEE, Martha, 45, head of household, widow, b. NC; parents b. NC . . James N., 17, farms, son, KY . . Dirice, 14, at home, dau, KY . . Stephen G., 11, farms, son, KY . . William, 7, son, KY . . John A., 21, son, b. KY . . Kertice, 3, grandson, b. KY . . Elen, 1, grandau, b. KY I don't see this family on the 1870 Knox Co. There is no Curtis listed in 1870. There is no William Thomas LEE or Thomas LEE or William T. LEE. The two William LEES are very young. 1. DANIC family
    2. Joyce Collins
    3. RESPONSE: There is no DANIC family showing on either the 1850 or 1860 Fed. Census. On the 1850, John T. shows as follows: Dwelling 429-437 WILLIAMS, Jacob, 70, laborer, b. VA . . Permelia A., M., 34, b. VA . . John T., 14, b. VA * * . . Thomas A., 12, b. VA . . Sarah A., 10, b. VA . . James P., 7, b. VA . . Mary F., 4, b. TN MITCHELL, Didra M., 55, b. VA NOTE: No doubt this Jacob WILLIAMS was married at least once or more times prior to the marriage to the Permelia A. M. listed. I am assuming she is his wife vs. a dau. Didra M. MITCHELL could be the mother of Permelia A. or possibly even one of Jacob's sisters or similar. With regard to marriage records, there is this one marriage record which "could" be your John T. WILLIAMS based on his birth place and age matching but . . . the marriage is not to any Charity. It is as follows from the Knox Co. Marriage Book B sold by the Knox Co. Gen. Society: August 18, 1853 - - see page 85 for additional information WILLIAMS, John to Frankey CARTER Mar. by: Calvin PRICHARD Wit: Henry TERRELL and Isaac CARTER From page 85: WILLIAMS, John, age 18, b. Bedford Co., VA to Frances "Frankey" CARTER . the date has been changed to read: August 8, 1853. Her age is listed as: "42 years" and she was born in Knox Co. This bunch is gone by the time of the 1860 Knox Co. There were basically no birth records maintained in Ky prior to 1911. Dates have come from Bible records, stones, and from a few bits and pieces of records left behind. It is very incomplete at best. 1. Re: Mrs Josepus Moore
    2. Joyce Collins
    3. RESPONSE: There is no William Thomas LEE listed. There is no Curtis LEE listed. There are William LEEs listed (3) of them. There are over 12 families of LEEs listed on the 1880 Knox Co comprising almost a full page column of listings in the Index. I'm afraid you are going to have to narrow down your request for the LEE families of Knox Co. You provide no age or other family members' names; therefore, I would have no way of knowing if a William Thomas LEE might simply be listed as a William. Simply showing one name is quite common. 2. E. CALDWELL
    3. Hello, Hi, Is it the Mountain Echo or the Mountain Advocate? Can you tell me where to view these papers? I am looking for an obit for my grandma CATHERINE SAYLOR CALDWELL who died abt 1905 in Leslie County KY. Right where the counties meet ( Leslie, Bell, Clay, Harlan) so it could be in any paper around there at that time. Thousand Sticks stops at 1904 and it wasn't in there. Birth and death records for the time in those counties are nonexistent from what I have been able to see and I have been to KDLA spoke to them again yesterday. Any help appreciated. I am running out of places to search.
