Hello, I found Pleasant Spurlock on the 1900 census for Knox County, Ky, listed with his children, Emma, Mary, Thomas, Dan, and Lizzie, but he had a different wife, (not Martha Baker), and I am wondering if he had other children with this other wife. Her name was Charity, age 20, and she was born in May 1880, and they hadn't been married a year yet if I am reading the census correctly. They were living next door to the James E. SMITH family that I was asking about. Thank you, Charlotte Miller

I've been doing research on this family for some time. The older Millard Prince is my ggrandfather. Your Millard Prince is his nephew. I have quite a bit of info on this family. I visited the old Prince cemetery in Knox Co. I left a letter there in hopes of someone finding it and contacting me, which happened and we've been visiting with this side of our family for the past three years. They told me about Jimmie Prince. I believe he was killed in Cincinnati, Oh. Jimmie half-brother, Hobart, has asked me on several occasions to help him find some of Jimmie's family. Please contact me, I have pictures you may be interested in also. pse82181@yahoo.com

I wonder if this Mays family is connected to my Mays family. My great-grandfather, John Lewis Daniel married a Nancy Mays who was born in 1845 in Kentucky. We don't know where in Kentucky she was born. She and John Daniel had a son, William Lewis Daniel born in 1865 in Laurel County, Kentucky. Does your Mays have a Nancy who was born in KY in 1845? John, I was able to locate your Messers. They all appeared on the same page of the 1920 Knox County Census, ED 120, Precinct 7 Messer. (Messer was part of the precinct name): 22/22 Messer, Coon 31 Mary 31 (Daughter) 1 1/2 (Unreadable. Possibly started with J - four letters) 23/23 Messer, Mitchell 31 Amelia 24 Robert 8 (Son) 6 (His name was unreadable. Possibly began with L - four letters) Callie 2 1/2 Axie 1 1/2 24/24 Messer, Amanda 75 Dicy (Daughter) 35 25/25 Messer, Thomas 56...may have been 36 but looked more like 56 Watts? (Son) 7 (Again, hard to read) The side with the page number, occupations, etc., was badly blurred. It did appear they were all from Kentucky as well as their parents. Annette Walker

Hi, I'm looking for my GG Grandma Amanda (Mills) Messer in the Knox County census. She should appear as being about 75 years old & probably living with one of her children. I am also looking for 2 of Amanda's sons in the same Knox County 1920 Census. They would appear as Thomas Messer about 36 years old & probably single. I'm also looking for Amanda's son Mitchell Messer. Mitchell would be about 31 & living with his wife Amelia (age 28) & children Robert, Callie & Axie. Thanks, John Davis
