At any rate. While I was out taking photographs at the Barbourville City Cemetery I came across a tombstone for Sarah Hawn wife of Isaac Hawn. Sarah being buried almost on top of a huge bush got me thinking so of course I had to dig into the bush and guess who I found, yep, Isaac Hawn. I haven't seen him listed on any of the transcriptions of the Barbourville City Cemetery. The dates appear to be Feb 7, 1829 (not 100% on month) to April 12, 18(bush in the way)3. I didn't realize the photo didn't turn out until I got home. If interested I will get the dates when I go out there again in a week or two. Eventually the photographs will be posted to my web site. Steve BROWN is buried at Stinking Creek, Brown Fork. Thursey is buried at Spring Branch, Brown Cem. The book is not available on line. It is a very interesting and valuable book to own. Cost is in the area of $70; however, you need to know this is a large telephone-sized book, bound, and totalling over 1000 pages. Having said that, you are NOT going to be able to determine where anyone lived in 1950-1955 from this book. There are no legal land descriptions given. The thrust of this book is tracing the lines of old John BINGHAM and the various connected families out several generations. Many, many of the long-time Knox Co. pioneer surnames are included, among them the BROWNs. Stephen P. BINGHAM can be reached at: P. O. Box 1216 Hazard, KY 41702-1216 Don't know where you live but it would seem that you would have to be checking on land records and land sales or transfers in the Knox co. court house if your concern is who owned what piece of land in 1950-1955.
