The Milton rumor and the 1880 census is in error. Here is the marriage for Berry Lawson and Vestie Killion. Knox County Kentucky Marriage Book BB&C 24 November 1875 Berry Lawson, age 23, b.Whitley County, 1st marriage Vestie Killion, age 19, b.Knox County, 1st marriage Wedding by H.H. Powell at home of Daniel Killion Wit:Elijah Nelson and W.F Bray I think someone other than Berry Lawson gave that information to the census taker and got the surname wrong. Thank you again,

Stacy Broughton Hammons died in Floyd County, Ky possibly due to com plications of her son, James, who was born in 1863. James Hammons married Catherine "Katy" Bishop 4-1965. They had a daughter named Christina "Genney" in 1866. James died in Floyd County, KY in 1889. James and Stacy's daughter, Susannah, was the one who migrated to Boone County, Arkansas with her husband, Mashall Hubbard. I found in some notes from my grandfather that his grandmothe "Sue Hammons" died in Boone County, Arkansas. I don't know when or where James died.

    1. Seny Blackburn
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Blackburn, Doolin, Solomon, Mills Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CBB.2ACE/5087 Message Board Post: I am not descended from any of the people listed below, but they are in my family file as married to distant cousins. However, I like to get as much info as posssible on the people I list in my file. Seanie Seny Blackburn married Nasby Mills after the 8th of August 1970. She is found on the 1850 Census of Knox County in the home of her parents. 1850 Census Knox County, KY Page 366 7 Sep 1850 Dwelling 640-642 Eli Blackburn, 46, farmer, b. TN Sharity, 54, b. NC Rebecca, 13, b. KY Richard, 10, b. KY Miles, 9, b. KY Seny, 6, b. KY Edith Solomon, 20, FEMALE, b. KY Seny/Seana Blackburn is next found in 1860, Knox County. Page 63 Dwelling 413-413 Eli Blackburn, 46, farmer, b. TN Charity, 54, b. SC Rebecca, 21, b. KY Seana, 15, b. KY Miles, 18, b. KY Edward Solomon, 33, MALE, b. KY Nancy Solomon, 8 Charity, 5 Charity doesn't seem to recall just where she was born. I was not able to locate Richard Blackburn in the 1860 Census. Miles died in the Civil War. He was in the 49th KY Infantry. Charity filed for his pension on 2 Dec 1879, application no 255206. Since his mother filed for the pension, he must not have left a widow. Edward or Edith Solomon: I don't know if they are the same person or what. Edith is a female in 1850, and Edward is a male in 1860. I have been unable to locate either an Edith or Edward Solomon on the 1870 Census to determine who is who. Cena Blackburn is again located in 1870, Knox County, unmarried. 1870 Census Knox County, KY Page 416 Subdivision 93 Flatlick 8 Aug 1870 Dwelling 003-003 Eli Blackburn, 59, farmer, $100-$250, b. TN Charity, 65, b. KY Cena, 25, b. KY Eli, 1, b. KY It is unknown if Eli Blackburn, age 1, is Cena's son, or the son of one of Cena's siblings. Or if he is the 10 year old John Mills, in the 1880 Census. 1880 Census Knox County Dwelling 023-023 Nasby Mills, 48 Seny, 35 John, 10 William, 7 Isaac, 3 Rebecca Blackburn married a Doolin, after the 29th of June, 1860. The Knox County site has that she married a James Doolin, in Knox County, in 1860, however, I have not been able to locate James and Rebecca in the 1870 Census, in any state. Rebecca does appear on the 1880, Census of Knox County. 1880 Census Knox Co Dwelling 024-024 Rebecca Doolin, 42 Eli, 9 Sarah, 7 Miles, 3 Charity Blackburn, 72, mother Conspicuously, two dwellings away is William Dulin/Doolin with wife Edie. I believe Edie is Edith Solomon. 021-021 (1880 Census) William Dulin, 63, farm laborer, b. TN Edie, 46, b. KY Rebecca, 16, b. KY Eli, 13, b. KY Checking back to 1870, on William Doolin: 1870 Census, Knox County, KY Page 423 Dwelling 008-008 William Doolin, 53, b. TN Eady, 40, b. KY Charity, 15, b. KY Rebecca, 12, b. KY Elias, 3, b. KY Martha, 1, b. KY I'm fairly certain that Edith/Edward Solomon is the Edie who married William Doolin. Charity Soloman on the 1860 Census was five years old. She would be 15 years old in 1870, which matches the Charity Doolin above exactly. Edith Solomon was 20 years old in 1850, which matches perfectly with the age of 40, in 1870. A William Doolin married a Jane Hignite, in Knox County, 3 Oct 1858 (SRC: Knox County site; marriages 1850-1865). I was unable to locate William and Jane on the 1860 Census. Nancy Doolin married Anderson McVey 25 Sep 1855, in Knox County. I've been unable to locate Anderson McVey in 1860. I think she may be the Nancy Solomon listed on the 1860 census with "Edward/Edith" Solomon, in the Blackburn household. Thomas Doolin married Mariah Powell 3 Oct 1858. Where were they in 1860? Mariah is on the 1890 Census of Knox County. James Doolin married Rebecca Blackburn. Where were they in 1870? Rebecca Blackburn was at home in 1860. These Doolins just seemed to pop into Knox County, long enough to find a wife, then disappear. A Hiram Doolin is on the 1850 Census of Knox County, Dwelling 237-292: Hiram, 32, b. VA Mary, 28, b. TN Malinda, 72, b. VA Then there is a Spencer Doolin, age 66, who is living in the household of Samuel C. Jones, dwelling 236-239. And one last bit of info: Eli Blackburn is listed on the 1840, Census Knox, Elli Blackburn male 100 yrs+ male 20-30 (1) Eli male 0-5 (1)Richard female 60-70 (1) female 30-40 (1) Charity female 10-15 (1) Unknown female 5-10 (1) Unknown female 0-5 (1) Rebecca Does anybody know anything further on these people? Thanks in advance for any responses.
