On March 15, 1810 he purchased five hundred acres of land on Old Lynn Camp Creek (see Deed Book B, on page 89, Knox County Court Clerks Office). On August 20, 1819 he purchased one hundred acres more of land adjoining the other tract, (see Deed Book C., on page 209 in Knox C. Court Clerks Office.) His death seems to be prior to the fall of 1854, as the Knox County Court appointed Commissioners, November Term 1854, to Lay off and divide the land belonging to Ephriam Moore, between his legal heirs namely Rosannah Harris, Joab L. Moore, Kisiah Norvell, Deborah Pemberton, and the legal Heirs of Martin Moore, and Elizabeth Hammock, (Wesley Moore, having died and leaving no heirs); Therefore the Commissioners having completed their work made their report to the Knox County Court February 1855, and were dismissed. Note: I haven't found Ephraim Moore in the 1850 census, so I believe he died a few years prior to the land division in 1854.
For Phyllis, The information that I have, and I cannot document it, either, took it off the message board from Faith's account, is that Ephraim Moore was born about 1773, which would put him in about the right sequence of births in the family: 1. Jeremiah born about 1765 2. Elizabeth born about 1767 3. Deborah born about 1769 4. Mary born about 1771 5. Ephraim born about 1773 6. Zadoc born about 1775 7. Levi born about 1777 8. Joab born on May 17, 1780 (Faith says "this our line" so maybe you are in touch with her) 9. Jesse born Aug. 10, 1781 I am still struggling with Deborah's age - we show her as being born 1767 or 69 On 1850 census she is shown as being 81which would make her birth year 1769 On 1860 census she is shown as being 93 which would make her birth year 1767. I am more inclined to go with the 1850 number, as on it her husband Jesse is shown as being 82 and she 81, while on the 1860 schedule they are both shown to be 93 so perhaps someone else gave the information because of their advanced ages. Incidentally, Elijah Harris is shown next to them in the slave schedule in 1860. He has 13 slaves, Jesse Fowler has 4. jean in ok

You have provided none. Please return to your query and add in some dates. For example, perhaps you have some idea when Mary Jane GAMBREL was born or when and where she died. And, you probably have some idea where she lived after she married Mr. SIZEMORE and we need Mr. SIZEMORE's first name. Did they have children? Probably, and if so, what were their names? If you have any approx. dates on James GAMBREL's birth or death or on this Amanda JACKSON, please provide that too. DO NOT POST A NEW QUERY! Post a response to this query or to your original query. That way it will be in one place for the future. I will try to help you if I can. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA
