Census for Knox Co. was taken. Census records are broken down into Precincts and different persons would be assigned to conduct the census for that particular census. Not necessarily would they all conduct their census on the very same date. As a general rule, you will find census for most of the counties I've encountered in southeastern KY to have been conducted at some point after the first of the year in the early spring months and prior to June. I looked at 3 different precincts in Knox Co. for you in the 1880 . Two enumerators stated they conducted their census on June 1st, 1880 and one stated it was conducted on June lst and 2nd 1880. In actuality, I wonder if it would not have taken them more than just one day to get around to all the homes in their individual precincts. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA

I want to join Joyce Collins to give the Clay County Society a pat on the back for having ALL Censuses, including Part I of the 1930 Census transcribed. The Clay County has a great collection of materials at their office, and many valuable books and pamphlets for sale. Fellow genealogists may not know that the fully transcribed and indexed 1930 (and prior ones) Census of LESLIE COUNTY is available from <herminabr@aol.com> and <granny100@aol.com> if you are interested in obtaining a copy. Is there a listing or does someone have a listing of who is buried in the Yeager and the Morris cemeteries? I still have 40 photos of tombstones and can't locate which cemetery they belonged in. Should have been more careful but I've learned. Thanks, Cassy. -- Please check out my new free genealogy site.
