    3. Suzanne Dungan has made a huge contribution to the Knox County web site with many Delong and Baker family photos. We need some help to figure out who they are though. All came from the Baker family photos and most of these Bakers lived in Flat Lick. If anyone can identify someone in the photograph please e-mail me. Please help us put names to these faces before all memories fade! 2. The book HISTORY & FAMILIES OF KNOX COUNTY KENTUCKY 1799-1994 book was published in 1994 by Turner Publishing Company,P O Box 3101, Paducah, KY 422002-3101. phone 502-443-0121. This is a very interesting book to own. It is also available at The Knox Historical Museum, PO Box 1446, Barbourville ,KY 40906. You can also join The Knox Museum , I think its only $10.00 a year and receive THE KNOX COUNTIAN newsletter every month (well almost every month) Coming back soon will be the Knox County Genealogical Society. The ladies who published that for years, recently retired and turned over their material to The Historical Museum in Barbourville, KY. I belive the D.A.R.ladies In Barbourville, KY are going to start publishing KNOX COUNTY, KENTUCKY KINFOLK soon. There is a book A HISTORY OF KNOX COUNTY, KENTUCKY by K.S. Sol Warren publ 1976. It is out of print. Sometimes you can find a copy on the Internet. Mary Ellen in Oregon

    3. I have a Jacob Grindstaff 1801-1890, son of Michael and CATHERINE VAN NOY Grindstaff, married 25 Aug 1825 in Knox County to Rebecca Bierley 1806-1888, daughter of Harmon and Edith Bierley. Although I'm not related to the Grindstaff family, two of Rebecca Bierley's siblings married into my Harrison line. Other researchers of the Grindstaff line name the younger Michael's place of birth in 1807 as Fighting Creek, Knox County, Kentucky. I am not aware of any marriages between the Lawson and Grindstaff surnames which is not to say that there were none. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 2:49 PM Subject: Re: [KYKNOX] Not found in Knox County History > > > > For a few years I've wondered about the Grindstaff name as I saw it so > often > with the LAwsons.
