They came to Knox County from North Carolina. I believe that they had a son named James that married Julia Ann Hubbard. James and Julia married in Knox Co. on 1-11-1863. I'm trying to link Mayomi Honeycutt to this family. I know that some of this family traveled on to Lincoln Co., Oklahoma. Joann Helton Maybrier

I am specifically trying to find direct male descendants from the following WILDER lines: Sampson WILDER (m. Ann ESTEP) Reason WILDER (m. Margaret JACKSON) Joseph WILDER (m. Sarah SAYLOR) A few years ago, I developed a THEORY regarding Joseph “Good Old Joe” WILDER (1758-1865) and Nancy (Last Name Unknown) being the parents of Sampson, Reason, Joseph, Rhoda, and Fanny….what I refer to as the Harlan County WILDERs. To my knowledge, there has been no documentation found proving this theory one way or the other. Since we have Joseph WILDER (1758-1865) baselined with two DNA participants, now would be a good time to test one of the lines mentioned above. If you know of someone who is a direct male descendant from one of the above lines that would be willing to participate in the WILDER DNA Project, please contact me. RESPONSE: I don't see that marriage in that time frame in Knox, Bell, Clay or Laurel Co.'s. However, you don't say how much further past 1930 one would need to go. Most all of the records I have access to go very little past 1935. It could be there but simply in nothing transcribed. I do see that Charles C. HENSON born to a Polly GARLAND was not born until 1948 and that Carol S. HENSON born to Polly GARLAND was not born until 1947, both in Knox Co. I think that is probably your problem in that the marriage took place much later than 1930 and you would have to get your information at the courthouse, if any place. I find no Anna at all in the few Davis listing I've got. My great grandmother was apparently Louise (Hamilton) Davis, widowed from probably John Davis of Claiborne Co., etc., Tennessee. The children ended up in Middlesboro, Bell Co., Area of KY. next to Knox Co., etc. By then Louise had married next to George Long of Jonesville, Lee Co., VA, divorced and then married a Unknown Crabtree that lived in Middlesboro at the time. I know nothing else about this Crabtree except her Davis children, Frank, Rebecca, Mary & Sallie, were living with his mother, Sidney Crabtree in Middlesboro, Bell Co., KY, in 1900. I believe he was a traveling minister and they were on the road. She had 3 other children not shown in that census/household named Robert, Matildia, & Lucy. Don't know where they were in 1900 but probably married, maybe in TN or nearby ????? If you run across a connection let me know. Again, I see no Anna yet.

Bob Mine is set up for 800X600. Been to the site many times before with no problem. I'll just have to keep at it...Lois . It may have something to do with your browser, or with the screen resolution. It is best viewed with Internet Explorer (but will work with others) and at 800 x 600 dpi screen resolution. It has something to do with how some elements float and some are in fixed position, and I can't figure out how to resolve the problem. But, 800 x 600 should allow you to view it without problems. Bob For some reason this page is messed up. The print is overlapping the links...Lois . If your any of your Kentucky ancestors fought in the War of 1812 I may have them listed on my Battle For Fort Meigs webpage. It lists approximately 2,500 Kentuckians and contains a search engine. Take a look at: http://members.aol.com/rwa5352802/ftmeigs/ Regards, Bob Walker Stop telling God how big your storm is. Instead tell your storm how big your GOD is! For you WALKERs and TAYLORS out there, John WALKER and Christopher WALKER, sons of the elder John WALKER of Knox Co., KY were in the War of 1812. My gg-grandfather, Cornelius Alexander TAYLOR served in the War of 1812. He later married Sarah Ann WALKER, dau. of Walter WALKER who was a brother to the older John WALKER of Knox Co. There were a number of other Knox Co. residents who also served in the War of 1812. Thanks, Joyce. I should have added that the webpage was started to include only the Company of Ambrose Arthur of Knox County, and was then expanded to include all who fought at the Battle for Fort Meigs. If your ancestor is shown you should definately download the chapter out of Lossing's book. Bob Walker
