    3. Robin , i think it is on route 11 going towards manchester, seems like thier is a Woolum Post office in the left side of the road going towards manchester. Rt 11 is just past Barbourville going towards Corbin. Don't take the first exit for rt. 11 going around the town of Barbourville. 3. I am trying to track backward the whereabouts of one MORGAN HARBIN who was apparently traveling the Wilderness Road from TN to Louisville. I have him in Louisville in 1845 as a wagoner, before that in Mercer County in 1840, and before that in Laurel County from 1827-1836. Now I would like to know if he appears in any tax records, or anything in Knox county. They would have been a young couple with at least one daughter. I would be ecstatic if they were with his parents - whoever they might have been! Before I pay to order deed records form SLC, does anyone have access to anything that would place him in Knox at all? Would appreciate any help getting him back to the TN counties and I hope his parents. Thank you. Joan Marie in Oregon

You know he used the surname, BROWN, throughout his life. You might want to check his death cert to see who was named on it. Since he married on Jan 4, 1922 in Knox Co., you might get that marriage record to see who he listed as his parents. Hope this helps. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA P.S. You have added your query to a very, very old response of mine. It is always best to make a brand new posting so that it will show up on the current queries and everyone will be able to see it.

Is there any mentioning of who the father of her grandson, Colson Brown (1901) was? His mother is Thursann (1877) and it is speculated that Silas Combs was his father. I've done numerous searches and it only shows up with one fellow in Kentucky, around the time. He was born in 1861 and married to Sylvia 'Sip' Ison. I'm lead to believe Colson was also an illegitimate child. There hasn't been any solid information presented to me. I know this is a longshot, but, it's worth a try. I've been having a difficult time piecing the clues together. Thanks in advance!
