Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CBB.2ACE/5876.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello, With regard to the earliest marriage book, Book A, there is no Mary or Polly LOGAN to anyone. There are several William CAMPBELLs listed but none marrying before 1810. Regarding Elizabeth CAMPBELL, there is only one marriage listed as follows: January 23, 1834 GHOURLEY, William to CAMPBELL, Elisabeth by Wm. HOPPER, minister There are NO McCABE marriages at all in Knox Co. before 1850 listed in Marriage Book A. The fact you state this possibly Andrew McCABE married another Elizabeth who was a HENSLEY makes me think he might have been in Harlan Co. Lots of HENSLEY's in that particular county. Harlan Co. was formed in 1819 from parts of Knox Co. I see the 1850 Census listing for Andrew as follows: Dwelling 508-519 McCABE, Andrew, 34, farmer, b. KY . .Elizabeth, 27, b. NC (lots of the Harlan Co. HENSLEYs came in from NC) . .Nancy A., 8, b. KY . .Mary, 6, b. kY . .Margaret J., 5, b. Ky . .Virginia, 3, b. KY . .Carlow, one month, b. KY I also see your Elizabeth CAMPBELL as follows: Dwelling 700-715 BROWN, Clement, 34, farmer, b. KY . .Louisa, 36, b. KY . .William L., 7, b. KY . .John W., 5, b. KY . .Henry T., 2, b. KY McCABE, Green C., 16, laborer, b. KY . .Elizabeth, 34, b. KY If Elizabeth happened to be a CAMPBELL, could it be possible that his listing next dwelling could be her parents? Dwelling 701-716 CAMPBELL, James, 64, farmer, b. NC . .Rachel, 64, b. NC . .Anderson, 25, farmer, b. KY In the next dwelling of Isaac and Margaret FOWLER, ages in their 40's, there is a Jane CAmPBELL, age 68, from NC. And, on the other side of Elizabeth and her son and not but a few dwellings away is: Dwelling 698-713 CAMPBELL, James, 30, farmer, b. KY . .Sarah, 22, b. KY . .Mary J., 6, b. KY . .William H., 2, b. Elizabeth McCabe had a brief marriage giving birth to Greencurran aka Green C. McCabe in Knox Co. in 1833. She is found with her son in the census in 1850 Knox Co. Andrew McCabe went on to marry another Elizabeth, surnamed Hensley and was having children in this marriage by 1842, if not sooner. Trying to establish maiden name of Greencurran McCabe's mother, Elizabeth. Also interested if listing exists for Mary or Polly Logan and William L. Campbell abt 1806 Knox Co. Thank you very much. 2. Amber: Dexter Sams lived across the road from our family at Gray. I believe his family moved there from Barbourville. I went to school with him at Lynn Camp, however, I don't know a lot about him after I graduated in 1954. I believe he graduated from Lynn Camp High School in 1955. I only saw him a couple of times after graduation, so I can't help you with anything after that. I can't remember his parents' names, however, his father was in the construction business. He had a sister, Othella, and another sister, but I can't remember her name. She had been previously married to a Duncan. From what I have seen in your posting at Knox County GenWeb, I take it that you are a descendant. of these two. Do you know when Hugh died? (apparently sometime befoe 1880) Do you know when Nancy died? Some have her dying in 1921 but I think this may be another person and have not ordered the death certificate. I plan to order certificates for Hugh Junior this week thining he the one who died in 1917. (Listed as Hugh Faley in death records). Do you know that Nancy was indeed a Lee?
