Any information about his professional career would be helpful. Specifically, I need to know if he was connected in any way to a Bill and Belle Reed who made a couple of recordings for Columbia Records in Johnson City, TN in Oct. 1928. Again, any information either confirming or disproving this would be most appreciated!

Susanne, I think that Molly Howard was living at Artemus, KY, Knox County when she died. She must have been in the Pineville Hospital and they would automatically put died in Bell County, KY. Cassy Sommers has done a great job getting the Cemeteries in Knox County, KY posted. Go to the following web site and click on Farley Cemetery, Knox County, KY. I think that you will find your lost grandparents there. Let me know if you find them. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyknox/Knox-County-Home.html Good Luck, Wanda ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 10:21 AM Subject: Re: [KYKNOX] Re: William Baker-Elizabeth Dean > Dear Wanda, > Thanks so much for the info!!! Dear Wanda, Thanks so much for the info!!! I had seen the information but didn't have it copied so this was a big help that you sent it to me. I just got a copy of Dan Howard's death certificate yesterday and he is definitely the Dan Howard that is Elisha and Julia's son. I am also looking for any descendents of Charley Howard and Mollie Chavies Howard. Do you know of any? Charley Howard was Dan Howard's son and is my great-grandfather. My mother's father (Charley's son) died when she was very young and all contact with that side of my family was lost. So any help would sure be appreciated if you know of any Howards in this line that are still living. The last surviving child of Charley and Mollie is an Anna Lois Howard. I have no idea what her married name is or where she might be located. Mollie Howard was residing in Bell Co. when she passed away in the 1990's. Thanks! Suzanne

Dear Michele, Thanks for the information on Elizabeth Dean. My lineage as far as I can tell is this: My maternal great-grandmother was Rosabell (aka Rose) Baker. She was the daughter of James Madison Baker and Melvina Smith Baker 1880 Census- Flat Lick, Ky. Dwelling 203-210 Baker, James, 39, born KY, parents born in Ky. , Melvina, wife, 25, lists her as being born in Ky....which is incorrect. She was born in Lee County, Va. , Christinie, dau., 12, born in Ky. , Rosabell, dau, 10, born in Ky. (***My great-grandmother) , Elizabeth, dau, 5, born in Ky. , Lillie, dau, 2, born in Ky. James Baker's parents were William Baker 1804/1805 and Elizabeth b. 1805. I believe from some sources that her last name was Walker...but I have no proof as yet. This William Baker and Elizabeth (Walker?) are shown on the 1830, 1840, 1850, and 1860 FlatLick Knox Co. Census. Children are: Nelson Baker b. 1830/1831 John Baker, b. 1833/1834 Lucinda Baker b. 1836 William Baker b. 1837 James Baker b. 1839/1840 ******(This is my great-great grandfather, James Madison Baker) Jefferson Baker b. 7 APR 1842 Sarah A. Baker b. 1847/1848 Mary A Baker b. 1847/1848 Henderson Baker b. 1850 Elizabeth Baker 1853/1854 I have concluded from research on the web that my William Baker 1804/1805-md. Elizabeth (Walker?) is the William Baker that is the son of William Baker b. abt. 1775 md. to Elizabeth Dean, b. abt. 1786. Thus my questions regarding the William Baker and Elizabeth Dean lineage. I was also interested in your Baker DNA website. If William Baker b. abt. 1775 and married to Elizabeth Dean, b. abt. 1786 and married in Knox Co. on 6 OCT 1803 is the son of Joseph Baker...which I think is correct, do you have any more info on Joseph Baker. I have seen all the info on an Andrew Baker-Mary Mollie Bolling connection...which is possible since they did have a Joseph and the age fits. That Joseph would have been a brother to Rev. Andrew Baker ? So that being said wouldn't the DNA's match up eventually? I don't have a Baker male to have DNA testing done. Do you know if any of James Madison Baker's brothers listed above have any descendents that have been tested. As you can see, my James Madison Baker only had daughters so y-DNA isn't possible for any of his descendents. Naturally, I am curious about who Joseph's father was and any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much! Suzanne
Hello, Apparently I tie into the Dean line not only from the William Bakers but also through the Howard's. Elisha Howard was my great, great, great grandfather! My maternal grandfather was Matt Archer Howard. His father was Charley Howard His father was Dan Howard and his father was Elisha Howard. Thanks so much for your info!!! I had no idea there was a Dean connection on that line, too. I have just been working on my Knox County roots for several months and everybody's help is certainly appreciated! Thanks so much!
Andrew Baker, son of Rev Andrew Baker and Elizabeth Avant, was born on 18 February 1777, according to Rev Andrew Baker's family bible. It's not been proven that Rev Andrew Baker is a son of Andrew Esquire Baker and Mary Mollie Bowling, but a lot of people believe that theory. Rev Andrew Baker was born in 1749 in Grayson Co VA and died on 24 Sep 1815 in Lee Co VA where he's buried in the Robt Clark Cem in Jonesville. Andrew Esquire Baker was born in 1720 in Chester Co PA and died after 1780 in Grayson Co VA. Elizabeth, Rev Andrew Baker's wife's maiden name is Avant. She was born on 12 September 1753 in Brunswick Co VA. Her parents are Peter Avant & Amy Massie. The story is that they were of French heritage and disapproved of her marriage to Andrew Baker. She didn't see them for several years after she married him. I hope this information helps, and let me know if I can help you more.
