    3. I am in need of someone who has practice at reading the really old handwriting AND has access to the Index of Marriage Book BB. I really would like to copy this old book but keep bypassing it because it is all handwritten. I'll be honest I have a difficult time at best trying to decipher some of that old writting. If there is someone that could help I would be forever grateful. I'm not sure when I can go and copy it but sometime in the next few weeks. My main point is the Book BB and book C (I believe) are copies of one another. Someone copied book BB and put it into book C but I think they may have transcribed some of the information incorrectly. That is just my opinion but until we have it on-line for all to see we don't really know. Any takers???? If I had to guess I would say there is probably a couple hundred marriage records there. Also this book has been laminated so I'm not entirely sure a photograph would even turn out I would just like to give it a try. 1. Knox County Web Page Updates
    2. Cassy Sommers
    3. Just a quick but large update to the Knox County Web Site. Doyle Mills has sent me close to 100 Funeral Home Memorial Cards so we have a new link on the main page. Thank you Doyle these are a wonderful addition to the site. If anyone else has Memorial Cards they would like to add please send them to me. I am also continuing to add marriage records onto the web site. So far all of the A's and B's are complete as well as my Mills and Messers couldn't help but do them first ;-) Please remember I may be slow at times adding items to the web site, but I am always collecting new items. If you have anything from Knox County you would like to share e-mail it and I will make sure it gets to the site. I would love to add old photographs, family group sheets, Wills, Bible Records, pensions, anything you can think of. Once again if you find a broken link let me know and I'll get it fixed ASAP. Happy Hunting, Cassy. -- Knox Co. site address: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyknox/Knox-County-Home.html "Show me your cemeteries, and I will tell you what kind of people you have." -Benjamin Franklin

    1. Re: [KYKNOX] Re: Buchanan family
    2. RESPONSE: Sorry, I am not familiar with "a" Coleman WALKER. I did see on Ancestry there was a Coleman WALKER on the 1820 Mercer Co., KY Fed. Census. I also saw they have the 1814 marriage you refer to indexed as Nancy FOWBUSH to Coleman WALKER in Madison Co., KY. The father of my Sarah Ann WALKER b. 1795 was Walter WALKER, brother to the JOhn WALKER who was in Knox Co. early on. Walter moved around and was in Owen Co., IN for several census periods prior to his death. A couple of his daughters married there in the 1830's and he died there in 1850. In the intestate estate court proceedings, his heirs are named, including my Sarah listed under her married name of "Sarah TAYLOR". We were fortunate to have passed down an old letter from the 1840's signed by Walter WALKER telling my gg-grandparents where he was and some of what was happening in the family. It was for this reason we were able to track him to IN and eventually prove his relationship to his brother, John WALKER, and prove an even earlier connection to his father, another John WALKER, who died in Hawkins Co., TN in 1814 . Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA In a message dated 8/13/2006 7:24:01 PM Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: > Did your Sarah Walker have a brother Coleman Walker b abt 1793 married to > Nancy Forbis/Forbes Oct 04, 1814 Madison Co KY.
