I have the information on Bluford Lowe and Elizabeth Dowis their marriage in 1832 the 1840 and 1850 census. I haven't been able to find anything on Bluford except he enlisted in the Civil War 1861 - 1863 after that I haven't been able to find anything. I am thinking he was injured in the war. I have found Elizabeth Dowis Lowe filed a Civil War Petition, Oct. 1879. Also she is listed in the 1900 Census in Woodbine, Knox County, Kentucky. Marriage Book A; however, there is a transcription error and the marriage appears as follows: March 25, 1832 NOE, Bluford to DOWIS, Elizabeth by: F. PARMAN, minister Wm. MUNCY, bondsman On the 1840 Knox Co., Bluford LOWE appears as Bluford LAWS: LAWS, Bluford, male, bet. 30-40 . . Female, bet. 30-40 . . Male, under 5 . .Male, under 5 . .Male, under 5 . . Female, under 5 . .Female, under 5 I don't see a Bluford LOWE or LAWS on the 1830 ; however, there are several LAWS families present as well as some DOWIS families and these two could have been represented in one of those families. By the time of the 1850, I am not seeing them in Knox Co., KY. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I cannot tell you over the years how many "cousins" I have come into contact with and treasure their friendship. These are people to whom I am related but never otherwise would have known about. In some cases, it has meant even obtaining photographs and other important information re my TAYLOR, WALKER and associated kinfolk family. When we make these postings, they remain in the system for those later on coming on board with research interests as opposed to two persons communicating privately. Unless it is some very sensitive family information or regarding some living person which we should not post, I am all for public postings! Good luck to you in further research.
