RESPONSE: Hello, The death certificate for your James A. WARREN who died on May 25, 1975 in Knox Co. at the age of 76 years would need to be ordered from the Frankfort, KY. The Vol. # is 25 and the Cert # is 12358. There are records available off of microfilm at various KY libraries that can be copied and mailed; however, they go only up to abt. 1955. With regard to the marriage record for Cora WOODS and Alex WARREN dated 4-26-1919 in Knox Co., KY, that marriage is located in Book A-7, Page 13. I checked on line to see if it appears on Cassy SOMMERs main website under Marriage Certificates; however, there is no copy of the actual marriage record there. I would suggest you write to the court clerk in Barbourville or give them a call and get the particulars on the cost to copy and mail it to you. Message Board. You are so right about these type of mistakes. My own brother, Jerry, died this year in March. When I saw his Obit, it said he was born in Corbin, KY. Well, he was not. He was born in Harlan Co. just like myself. Mom and Dad had never lived in Corbin, KY. I guess my brother remembered that we would stop in Corbin to visit with one of Dad's sisters and some how got in his head it was Corbin vs. Cumberland. Thanks again. Thank you, I often get so confussed! OK! Pearlie Evans Married John Henry Epperson, b. Nov. 1st, 1884, d. March 24th, 1967 Pearl's b. June 5th, 1891, d. May 19th, 1983. According to records, John Henry's Father was Green Epperson, b. June 21st. 1854, d. Feb. 25th, 1934. A little story here. Looks like Green was a Scott, not a Epperson. Changed his name after his third or forth child. I believe some kind of trouble with the law. Anyways, Greens mother Sarah Elliott, Scott, York, last maried a Mr. James York. She was his second wife. Listed on a census was Green as Scott York. I do know that Pearl's mother was a patterson, which you have sent me informtion years ago and I thank you for it. Now the hunt for Mr. John W. Evans and his parents. I have only two names left to fill on my family tree and these are my missing links. The only story I remembering hearing is John had my GGrandmother Sarah Jane Evans expecting the same time as another woman. So, Pearl has a 1/2 brother pretty close in age and remember also hearing stories she visited him in Flat Lick by the name of Jesse Evans. OK! Sorry such a long story. Hope it helps out.
