Here is little Riley when he died. JB West, Homer H. - 64, 156 Morgan Boulevard died at 6 a.m. today in Porter Memorial Hospital. A resident of the community for 29 years, coming from New Orleans, in 1936, he was born Dec. 26, 1901 in Hindman, Ky., the son of Fielden and Elizabeth (Fuller) West. He was employed as a ironworker at American Bridge Division of United States Steel Corporation Gary. On September 22, 1928, in Jeffersonville, Ind. he married Ruby K. Arturburn, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, William of Hobart, Gene, Jerry and Stephen all of Valparaiso; two daughters, Mrs. George (Elizabeth) Beach, Valparaiso, and Mrs. William (Katherine) Hackensmith, LaPorte; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Donald Whitman, and 10 other brothers and sisters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Bartholomew Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Matthews officiating.
