He was born December 18, 1950, at Kite, the son of the late Sherman & Clarinda Slone Short. He was a retired General Laborer. He is survived by 1 son: Nathan Short of Martin; 2 daughters: Tracy Short of South Carolina & Renee Terrill of Campton; 4 brothers: Ervine Short, Sherman Jr. Short, Roman Short & Wayne Short all of Kite; 2 sisters: Pauline Allen of Rogersville, Tennessee & Rosa Short of Kite; Special Companion & Friend: Tashina Sparkman; 6 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother: Hubert Short. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Hindman with Red Morris, Nathan Hackworth & Darrell Short officiating. Burial followed at the Sherman Short Cemetery on Mullins Branch at Kite, under the direction of the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Hindman.
