    2. Anna Lou Combs, 83, of Ligonier died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 10:45 p.m. in North Ridge Village Nursing Home, Albion. Mrs. Combs retired from Silgan, formerly Monsanto, in Ligonier after 19 years. She was a member of the Cromwell Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed bowling, listening to music, watching television, planting flowers and trees. She was especially fond of her three dogs, her indoor cat, and her two outdoor cats. She was born January 27, 1927, in Pinetop, Kentucky, to Hasadore and Ibby (Sparkman) Short. Surviving are a son, Kenneth Slone of Ligonier; three grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a sister, Hasanell Blankenship of Somerset, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by four sons, Larry Ford, Bill Slone, Doug Slone, and Bobby Slone; two daughters, Hester West and Nona Slone; a grandson; five brothers; and seven sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with Matt Line officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City. Calling is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the funeral home at www.youngfamilyfuneralhome.com
