Hester Jean Campbell, 81, of Fairfield, Ohio died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born June 3, 1929 in Letcher County, Kentucky to Seldon and Polly (Mullins) Elam. She was married to Edward Campbell, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Indiana. She was an employee of Hillendbrand in Batesville, Indiana. Survivors include 2 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-great Grandchild. In addition to her parents and her husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Akers, who died in 2004; her 4 brothers, Buford Elam, Earl Elam, Raymond Elam, and Carl Elam; and 4 sisters, Addie Hamilton, Ruth Frazier, Stella Blair, and Mary Louise Honeycutt. The visitation will be Saturday, July 21, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hope Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Indiana. The funeral service will follow the visiation beginning at 1:00 PM at the Church. Kelly Barnes, Pastor of Hope Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, Indiana. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Memorial donations may be given to the family to assist with expenses.
