A former plumber and an avid fisherman and hunter, he was born in Hazard on March 19, 1973 to parents Bob and Mildred Hayes. He is survived by his wife, Mary Wamsley; sons Corey, Kyle and Cody Hayes; daughter Kayla Hayes; stepson Matthew Taylor; sisters Bobbie Stacy and husband Jim of Hazard; Patsy Long and husband Rick of Lafayette, In., Sandy Watts and husband LeRoy of Lafayette and Susie and husband Dave Williams of Frankfort; brother Damon and Martha Hayes of Rossville, In. and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 19 at Bodine Funeral Home in Indiana. Funeral services will follow with Guy Studebaker officiating. Burial will be at Ball Hill Cemetery in Cutler, In. Memorials may be made to Bodine Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. *************************************************** Newmeda Hurt Newmeda Grigsby Hurt, 68, passed away on Friday, November 12 at the Kentucky River Regional Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Hazard, the daughter of the late Hattie Miller Grigsby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Hurt, Sr., brother John Grigsby and sister Freda Allen. She is survived by her sons, Danny Hurt and wife Virginia of Lost Creek, Virgil Hurt, Jr. and wife Angelia of Viper, Steven Hurt and wife Sandra of Viper, Jesse Hurt and wife Beth of Lost Creek and Shannon Hurt of Lost Creek; sisters Effie Jean Henson and husband Scott of Dayton, Ohio and Lola Mae Helton and Roy of North Carolina. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard on Tuesday, November 16 with Alger Combs and Calvin Williams officiating. He is survived by his mother, Carol Hurt; son Chris Lindon and wife Bethany of Hazard; daughter Ashley Giordano of Bluffton, In.; sister Linda Nunley of Bluffton and granddaughter Kristina Lindon of Hazard. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hurt, Jr. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 17 at the Right Fork Church of Christ in Viper. She was the daughter of the late Van Campbell and the late Myrtle Williams Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gatewood; sons Danny Deaton, Jerry Lynn Deaton, Edison Deaton and Ronnie Earl Deaton; sisters Wilma Jean Bradford and Carol Clark and brother Lloyd Campbell, along with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the former owner of Community Super Market and the daughter of the late Leo Napier and the late Laura Napier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, L.R. Campbell, and sisters Debbie Melton and Sandy Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Campbell; sisters Dora Sue Murray, Arvetta Renzello and Teresa Grigsby; brothers Bill Napier, Henry "Bud" Napier, David Napier and Randy Napier; and grandchildren Renzi Fugate and husband Brandon, Jessalyn Lockhart, Blake Lockhart and Kaleigh Jones.
