She was born on August 16, 1945, the daughter of the late andrew "Donut" Hurt and Theona Smith Hurt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Danny Lee Terry; brothers Ishmeal "Peanut" Hurt, Clyde Hurt, John Hurt and Virgil Hurt, and sisters Hester Ritchie, Thelma "Tootsie" Ritchie and Kathleen Hurt. She is survived by her son, Sydney Ray Combs of Olympia, Ky.; daughters Bernice Combs Cook of Olympia and Vontella Combs of Hazard; brothers Eli Hurt of Lotts Creek, Glen Hurt of Indiana and Raymond Ray Hurt; sister Velma Jean Keenton of West Liberty; grandchildren Wesley Shaw Cook, Ashley Briana Cook and Bryce Kolton Wade Combs; and great-grandchild Haidyn Lance Storme Cook. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29 at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin, Ky. Funeral services will be Friday, December 31 at 11 a.m. with Charles Ed Smith, Carl "Doke" Smith and others officiating. Burial will take place at the family cemetery in Olympia. Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ************************************************* Helen Graham Begley Helen Graham Begley, 80, died on Monday, December 27 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was born in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of the late John Graham and the late Elizabeth Hutchison Graham. She had been a resident of Perry County since 1958, and was the retired owner of the Hazard Sewing Center. She was a member of the Hazard Christian Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and the Eastern Star, and she also enjoyed square dancing and line dancing. Her husband, Denver Begley, Jr.; parents John and Elizabeth Graham and brothers Jim and Jack Graham preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Sharon Begley Land and husband Clint of Lexington, Cathy Brunker and husband Gary of Cynthiana and Kandy Begley Bailey of Hazard; grandchildren Clint, Denver George, Lindsey, David, LaShonda, Denver Lee and Carol Sue; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Jordan, Grace, Elijah, Spencer and Sarah, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 30 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Dr. Larry Bishop officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mountain Community Hospice, Community Ministries and the Cynthiana Christian Church. *************************************************** Mark Devone Hampton Mark Devone Hampton, 70, of Hazard, died Tuesday, December 14 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He was a retired coal miner and the son of the late Charlie Hampton and the late Zella Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Crawford Hampton. He is survived by his daughter, Kelley Cornett; sons Mark Hampton, Jr., Christopher Hampton, Jeffery Hampton, Damion Miller, Makenzie Miller and Jai Miller; fiancé Jenny Sizemore; stepdaughter Jessica and Amberlynn Sizemore; sister Nona Rutledge; brother Clayton Vandiver along with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29. Services will be held immediately following with Rev. John Pray officiating. Interment will be at Crawford Cemetery in Beattyville. ***************************************************
