Everett Bates March 20, 1917 - March 2, 2010 Facts Born: March 20, 1917 Death: March 2, 2010 Biography Everett Bates, Age 92 of Kettering passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010. He was born on March 20, 1917 to Columbus and Eliza Bates in Kite, Kentucky. He served in the Army Air Corp. during World War II in the Pacific Theatre flying 63 missions. He retired from Frigidaire in 1976 after thirty years of service. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Nora and two sons, Mike of Beavercreek and Kevin (Ollie) of Washington Township. He dearly loved his two grandchildren: Kim (Aaron) Garrity of Erie, PA and Kyle Bates of Washington Township, Ohio, and three great-grandchildren: Hope, Addie, and Paige Garrity of Erie, PA. He is also survived by his sister Olga Sloane of Pine Top Kentucky. He will be greatly missed by his many loving nieces, nephews, friends and loving daughter-law. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, March 6th at McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Rev. Dennis Huff officiating. Internment to follow in Davids Cemetery, Kettering. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
