Ellie Inis Amburgey ABINGDON, Va. Ellie Inis Amburgey, age 90, a former resident of Nora, Va., passed away at her home in the Bethel Community of Washington County, Va., on Saturday with her family by her side. She was a postmaster in Nora, for 34 years and was a member of the Buffalo Freewill Baptist Church in Nora. She was a member of The Eastern Star and will be truly missed by her family and her many friends over the years that she made while serving as postmaster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton H. Amburgey; and a special daughter-in-law, Nancy Virginia Minton Amburgey. Ms. Ellie is survived by her son, Birten H. Amburgey of Abingdon, Va.; one granddaughter, Jamee Amburgey of Abingdon; and two grandsons, James Amburgey and wife Joyce of Maryland and Joey Amburgey and wife Shelby of Abingdon; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, James Jr., Brandon, Santanna, Chase and Quinton; and one great-great-grandchild, Abigil Grace. Funeral services for Ellie I. Amburgey will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, March 22, 2010, in the Temple Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Castlewood, Va., with the Rev. Eggers officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family asks that you meet on Monday by 10:45 a.m. at the Temple Hill Memorial Park for the conducting of graveside rites.
