MAGGIE GROH, age 70, of Kendallville, died on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Mrs. Groh was born near Quicksand, Kentucky, in Knott County on August 10, 1939 to Taulby and Delana Roberta (Shepherd) Handshoe. Her father died at a young age in 1948. She married Paul A. Groh on June 14, 1964 in Kendallville and he preceded her death June 21, 1985. Maggie was a homemaker and did alot of babysitting and taking care of her family for many years. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers and attending church. She was a dedicated member of Community Baptist Church near Wolcottville. Survivors include: Her mother, Delana Roberta Terry of Kendallville. Daughter, Jackie Delana Hammel of Kendallville. Daughter, Vickie L. Groh-Roberts of Kendallville. Two grandchildren; Kirsty Delana Hammel and James Paul William Baker both of Kendallville. Stepson, Jerry Groh. Stepdaughter, Judy Everidge. Brother, Oscar and Ollie Handshoe of Kendallville. Step sister, Dorothy Ramey of Kendallville. Step brother, Radie Terry of West Virginia. Many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Edith Conley; step sisters, Laura Ramey and Flora Hoover; and step brothers, Chester, Curtis, John Arnold, and Clark Terry. Visitation will be Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 5:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will also be Sunday anytime after 3:00pm at Community Baptist Church with evening services at 6:00pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00am at Community Baptist Church. Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Leburn Combs, Rev. Willie Collins and Rev. Rick Davis. Burial will be at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett.
