He was preceded in death by his wife: Matilda Gayheart Banks; brothers: Carol, Curt, Coy, Lester and Harlan Jr.; sister: Thelma Banks Gibson; great grandchild: Scarlett Avery Banks. He is survived by his only child: Ben (Anita) Banks; grandson: Dr. Seth Banks; several nieces and nephews. On June 24, 1957 he married Sarah Howard in LaGrange, Indiana. She died February 23, 1985. On April 1, 1988 he married Audrey Belcher in Teaberry, Kentucky. Following over 30 years of dedicated employment with Morgan Olson in Sturgis he retired in 2000. He was a member of Mount Calvary United Baptist Church in Stroh, Indiana and enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and mowing his grass. What he had a real love and talent for was music and he was a member of the Chapel Hill Bluegrass Band. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years; Audrey, One Son; Kenneth (Karen) Beverly of Burr Oak, Two daughters; Carolyn (Jessie) Smith of Knott County, Kentucky and Linda Beverly of Burr Oak, Seven Grandchildren; Christina Hicks, Kenneth Phillip Beverly, Kasandra Keeslar, Sarah Jane Waite, Elisha Smith, Armondo Beverly and Greg Beverly, Five Great Grandchildren, One Sister; Ivory Gault of Kendallville, Indiana and many nieces, nephews and sisters and brothers in his church. Survived by his wife; Mary Jo Dye; 4 sons; Acie Dwaine (Melinda) Dye of McDowell, Gary (Mary) Dye of Carlisle, Ky., Tommy Dye (Dawnetta Lawson) of Somerset, Anthony Louis (Danielle) Dye of Flemingsburg, Ky., 1 daughter; Vickie (Enon) Caudill of Flemingsburg, 2 brothers; Chuck Dye of McDowell, Sam Dye of West Milton, Oh., 1 sister; Betty Falny of McDowell, and 17 grandchildren. Mrs. Fugate moved to the LaGrange area 44 years ago from Kentucky. She had worked at Starcraft in Emmatown. She will be dearly missed by all. She was born May 7, 1941, in Perry County, Ky., to Brack & Madie (Jones) Caudill. On March 8, 1960, in Dwarf, she married Charles Glenn Fugate. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1989. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Diana & Thomas Davis of LaGrange; a son and daughter-in-law, Brackie & Lori Fugate of LaGrange; 3 grandchildren, Chelsy Jo Fugate, Kayla Lynn Fugate, and Cale Davis; one great grandson, Zachary Charles Brown; 5 sisters, Margie Noble, Ann Chatt, Corina Fugate, Billie Jean Slone, and Jolene Smith all of Kentucky; and a brother Charles David Slone of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by a brother, Delvin Caudill, and 3 sisters, Pearl Caudill, Felicia Slone, and Annette Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents; First Husband; Second Husband; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
