    3. Herbert "Hub" Bolen Herbert "Hub" Bolen, age 84, of Hindman, passed away on April 26, 2010, at the Knott Co. Nursing Home, in Hindman. He was born July 8, 1925 in Knott Co. to the late Bennie & Eveline Sparkman Bolen. His wife was the late Hattie Smith Bolen. He was a disabled General Laborer. He is survived by 2 sons; David Lee (Sue) Bolen, of Plymouth, Ohio, & Dana (Tina) Bolen, of Kenderville, In.; 5 daughters: Carolyn (the late Spence) Clemons, of Decoy, Brenda (Rick) Goodson, of Stoutsville, Missouri, Hilda (Herold) Hall, of Topmost, Phyllis Ann (Willie) Lovely, of Waldo, & Nancy (Robert) Hays, of Hindman; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren & 1 on the way; Special Nephew, Garth Dalmon Bolen. He was preceded in death by his parents & wife; sons: Charles Donald Bolen & Clayton Bolen; daughter; Rachel Bolen Lovely; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; and 1 grandson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 29, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Hindman with Randall Short & Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Compton Cemetery in Elmrock under the direction of the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home of Hindman. She was born on October 25, 1929, in Sassafras to McKinley & Hettie Pridemore McIntosh. In addition to her husband, Sherrill C. Miller of Red Fox, she was preceded in death by her parents; her only son Kenneth S. Miller; & her siblings; Gertrude Mullins, Lois Hudson, Ealy McIntosh, and Reda Sorrell. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and second mother to many disadvantaged young women that she befriended and encouraged throughout her lifetime. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Pattilynne) Miller of Orange Beach, Alabama; and her grateful daughter-in-law Mary Ann Miller of Bedford, Indiana; 5 blessed grandchildren; 9 precious great-grandchildren; and second Mother to Brenda Poole of Cloverport. She was an endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in the Foley Branch of the Mobile Stake in Alabama. In her honor, there will be a Memorial Procession at the Happy Home Church in Amburgey on Sunday May 30th at 10 a.m. as part of the Annual Memorial Weekend Reunion of the McIntosh Clan. He is survived by 2 sons; Homer Lynn (Lori) Pigman of Isom, Denver Lee (Melissa) Pigman of Hindman; 4 daughters; Joyce (Allen) Risk of Morehead, Janice (Osiris) Fernandez of Queens, New York, Debbie Pigman of Morehead, & Lora (Christopher) Vliet of Lexington; Grandchildren; Ana Fernandez, Lillian Vliet, Alex Williams & Josh Rolen. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; 5 sisters; & granddaughter Tabitha Risk. Funeral services will be held on April 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Hindman Methodist Church with DAV Services at the cemetery performed by the Knott Co. DAV Chapter 171.
