I don't know which school that is mentioned here. glo Which of those schools represents the TWO room school on the left side of the road near the holler called Tuttle Creek or Turtle Creek that was the next creek above Dry Creek if you were heading toward Letcher County? The school may have been called Beaver Creek, but mother never kept our report cards--ended up being 10 kids in our family! Mrs. Leslie Smith and Mr. Martin were the teachers when I attended for grades 1 thru 3 in 1954, 55, & 56. Mrs. Smith's husband worked as an inspector of the gas wells or something to that effect. She had a couple of older sons and a daughter, Karen, that was the same age as me at that time. 1954 we were 6 years old.
