She was the daughter of the late Leslie Begley and the late Katherine Gayhart Begley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luke Walters; sister Pearl Walters and brother James Begley. She is survived by daughter Wilma Williams and Janice Gadbury; son Stephen Walters; sister Patricia Moore; grandchildren Terry Ezra Williams, Charles Evan Williams, John Lesley Fugate and Shannon Wesley Malley; great-grandchildren Logan Shane O'Keefe Malley and Courtney Elise Fugate. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where services took place on Monday, January 24. Interment was at Little Leatherwood Community Cemetery in Leatherwood. ******************************************** Johnny Stidham Johnny Stidham, 81, of Krypton, died Thursday, January 20 at his home. He was a retired coal miner and served in the United States Army. He was the son of the late Joe Stidham and the late Cora Begley Stidham. He was also preceded in death by bothers Pete and Farris Stidham and grandchildren Missy Fugate and Kenneth Rucker. He is survived by his wife, Frances Stidham; daughters Patricia Noble and husband Eddie and Nana Estep and husband Johnny; sons Ronnie and Teresa Stidham, John Stidham, Jr. and wife Charlene and Richard Stidham and wife Margaret; sisters Joann Howard, Madge Wagamuth, Ellen Weedman and Nan Conrad; brother Barry Stidham along with 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard. Services were held at the Krypton Bretheren Church on Saturday, January 22 with Jim Sluss officiating. Interment was at Langdon Cemetery in Krypton. ********************************************* Lewis Cornett Lewis Cornett, 68, of Slemp, died Sunday, January 23 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Cornett of Smilax; sisters Brenda Sizemore of Indianapolis and Wanda Sue Hadden of Mt. Washington, NY along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 24 at the Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper. Services will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 25 with Charles Bush officiating. Burial will take place at the Cornett family cemetery. ********************************************* Jimmy Dean Flannery Jimmy Dean Flannery, 43, of Jeff, died Friday, January 21 at home. He was the son of John M. Flannery and Lorane Holland Campbell. He is also survived by his wife, Marlena Flannery; daughters Brooke Nashae Flannery and Melody Faith Dixon; brothers Johnny Flannery and wife Mallie and Joshua Flannery along with one niece, two nephews and a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family received friends on Monday, January 24 with the funeral services immediately following. Burial took place at the Colwell Cemetery at Busy. ********************************************** Leonard Callahan Leonard Callahan, 85, of Viper, died Wednesday, January 19 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He is survived by his son, Corbin Callahan of Viper; daughter Maxine Shepherd of Viper; brothers Isaac, Jimmy, Harold, Corbin, Jr. and Johnny, all of Indiana; sisters Rose Pratt, Rachel Moffit, Bernice Vanderpool, Vada Tucker and Emily Brancamp, all of Indiana; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will begin on Friday, January 21 at 6 p.m. at the Middle Fork Church of Christ in Viper. Services will take place on Saturday, January 22 at 1 p.m. with Mike Hall officiating. Burial will take place at Ben Cornett Cemetery. Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper is in charge of arrangements. **********************************************
