James "Jim" Gibson, 67, of Wolcottville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Mr. Gibson retired from Reliable Tool & Machine Company in Kendallville, and had also retired as a truck driver. He was an avid Nascar fan, who also loved riding his Harley Davidson, camping, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Jim also enjoyed taking his grandchildren, Lainy "Fuzzhead", Sammi Jo, and Connor to preschool. He was born July 25, 1943, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Sam and Elsie (Moore) Gibson. On January 7, 2000, in LaGrange County, he married Tina (Charles) Gibson. She survives at their residence in Wolcottville. Also surviving are six daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Robert Schlatter of Wolcottvile, Tyana Polly of Rome City, Jessica and Seth Leins of Wawaka, Michelle Gibson of Goshen, Amy Gibson of Michigan, and Karen Gibson of Fort Wayne; five sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy Gibson of Ligonier, Shon Gibson of Rome City, Lonnie Gibson of Wolcottville, Larry and Jen Polly, Jr. of Helmer, and Casey Polly of Wolcottville; 28 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a special cousin, Jasper Case of Wolcottville; and a sister-in-law, Thelma Meyers of Rome City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Johnny Jones and Jack "Hoot" Gibson, a son, Ronnie Jordan, and a nephew, Jack Gibson who was like a son to him. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the Wolcottville Church of God with Pastor Gene Suffridge officiating and Pastor Wade Sturdivant to pay a special tribute. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
