    3. Published in the Hazard Herald 13 January 2011 ******************************************** Lucy Brewer Lucy Brewer, 82, of Bulan, died Monday, January 10 at Hospice Care Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Burton Combs and the late Clarandia Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paschal Brewer, and daughter Sarah Faye Mills. She is survived by her daughter, Courtney Neace; son Troy Brewer; sister Edith Sutton; brother Paul Combs; grandchildren John Brewer, Jeff MIlls and Destiny Neace, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 13. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 14 with Dana Feltner officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. ******************************************** Annalee Dixon Rader Annalee Dixon Rader departed this life on Tuesday, January 11 at her residence in Hazard. Annalee was born in Leslie County, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Dixon and the late Bess Lewis Dixon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hazard, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Dames, and the National Society of New England Women. She was also a legal stenographer for the Perry County Courts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gordon Rader; sister Alma White; brothers R.L. Dixon, Jr., Billy Dixon, and Ernest Harold Dixon, who was killed December 15, 1944 while a prisoner of the Japanese; and grandsons Richard Lombard II She is survived by her son, John Robert Rader and wife Maria Michelle Rader of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter Bobbie Ann Lombard and husband Richard of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters Elizabeth Clark of Glasgow, Kentucky and Ruth Watson of Danville, Kentucky; grandchildren Amy Dunham, Elizabeth Biller, Jack Rader and Natalie Rader; great-grandchildren Anna, Emmalee, Tray Biller and Madison Dunham; plus a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 13 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard. Burial took place in the Englewood Cemetery located at Christopher. ********************************************* Andy Smith Andy Smith, 73, of Bulan, died Tuesday, January 11 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He was the son of the late Sam Smith and the late Nancy Smith. He was also preceded in death by brothers Haven Smith and Oval Smith. He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann Smith; sister Ima Jean Fritz; brother Estill Smith; special niece Teresa Muncy; very special nephew Russ Muncy along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 14. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 15 with Jack Carter officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff. ********************************************* Lula Marie Ritchie Pugh Lula Marie Ritchie Pugh, 28, of Hazard, died Monday, January 10 at the Whitesburg ARH. She was the daughter of Anna Campbell Ritchie and the late Cecil Ritchie. She is also survived by her husband, John Pugh; daughters Savanna Pugh and Cecilia Pugh; stepdaughter Alexis Pugh; stepson Dylan Pugh; sisters Jamie and Joshua Melton; Kimberly and Mike Lewis and Allison Ritchie; sisters-in-law Phyllis and Rick Adams and Thelma and Jay Bates; brothers-in-law Bennie and Mary Pugh and Robert and Celesta Pugh; and nieces and nephews Shasta Melton, Kaylee Melton, Breanna Melton and Mikeda Lewis. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 13. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 14 with Freddie Coots officiating. Interment will be at Ritchie Family Cemetery in Lotts Creek. ********************************************* Samuel Dean Salyers Samuel Dean Salyers, 71, of Bulan, died Friday, January 7 at home. He was the son of the late Amos Salyers and the late Mary Barker. He was also preceded in death by brothers Jerry Thomas and James and Freddy Salyers. He is survived by three special nieces: Kimberly Salisbury, Melinda Collins and Stephanie Charles; special nephew Freddy Salyers, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, with services immediately following. Burial will be at Curt Napier Cemetery at Lotts Creek. ********************************************** Ima Jean Rice Ima Jean Rice, 64, of Chavies, died Sunday, January 9 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was employed by LKLP as a cook, and was the daughter of the late Beecher Collins and the late Octavia Stidham Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hughey Rice. She is survived by daughters Janice Scott and Lynn Johnson; sisters Pliney Deaton, Margaret Collins, Mable Maggard and Elzie Herald; brother Bidge Collins, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. A graveside service will be held at Gays Creek at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11 with Jim Sluss officiating. **********************************************
