Marcella Combs Shepherd Born: 06/20/1944 Died: 01/06/2011 Visitation: Sunday, January 9 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service: Monday, January 10 at 11 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel Interment: Entombment in Highland Memorial Gardens, Staffordsville, Ky Marcella Combs Shepherd, age 66, of Garrett, daughter of the late Enoch and Dorothy Conley Combs, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Fl. She was born June 20, 1944 in Lackey, Ky. Marcella was a former teacher, who taught in the White Pigeon High School, Sturgis, Mi., and in the Knott County Central High School in Hindman, Ky.. Additionally, she was employed as a life insurance sales agent for Commonwealth/Monumental Life Insurance Company. She is survived by, one son, Abe Enoch Shepherd, his wife Samantha, Richomond, Ky., one daughter, Karen Machille Shepherd, Jacksonville, Fl., her former husband, Abe Shepherd, two sisters, Betty Karen Conley, Garrett, Ky., Cora Ann Whitaker, Pontiac, Mi., and two grandchildren, Lexi and Kaitlynn. Funeral service for Marcella Combs Shepherd will be conducted, Monday, January 10 at 11 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memorial Gardens, Staffordsville, Ky. Visitation is from 3 until 9 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.

Marcella went to Hindman High part of her high school years. It seem she had attended Garrett prior to Hindman. I remember her well since she and I were interested in the same young man, for a period of time. Anyone know how her father, Enoch was related to Beckham Combs? It seems there was some connection.
