    3. Muncie Meade Muncie Meade Jr., age 63, of Dema, passed away June 2, 2010, at the Kings Daughter Hospital at Ashland. He was born in Dema on January 30, 1947, to Muncie Meade and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jones Meade. He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 sisters. He is survived by his wife: Dianna Meade; daughters: Connie Lynn (Bill) Jones and Gwen (Harry) Arnett; 4 brothers: Ned, Randy, Eugene and Eddie Meade; 7 sisters: Louise King, Barbara Nolan, Sue Waukechon, Sonja Holbrook, Janet Meade, Ogie Slone and Debbie Slone; 7 grandchildren: Brandi Nichole, Dianna DeLynn, Lyndon Blake, Bill Thomas, Sasha Lynn, Gary Tyler and Elizabeth Rose. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Freddy Hall officiating. She was born in Knott County on January 1, 1914 to Billy Slone and Nancy Watson Slone. She was preceded in death by husband: Mitchell Slone; sons: Kenneth, Rodger and Marvin Slone; daughter: Vonda Lynn Slone. She is survived by sons: Jerry (Sue) Slone, Johnny (Mary Ann) Slone, Donald (Vickie) Slone and Alfred Keith (Sherry) Slone; daughter: Mitzi (Otis) Boggs; 1 sister: Vina Slone; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; also a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Kelly Slone and Daniel Jacobs officiating. A member of the U.M.W.A., Betsy Layne D.A.V., Martin Kiwanis, John W. Hall Masonic Lodge # 950, Volunteer Observer for the National Weather Service, and a member of the Martin Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Martin with Russ Taylor and Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial followed at Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel with Military Honors by the Betsy Layne Chapter of the D.A.V, and the Kentucky National Guard. Janis was preceded in death by 1 sister: Violet Young; 1 nephew: Ronald Young and her parents. She is survived by sons: Granby (Sandra) Smith and Douglas (Peggy) Smith; grandchildren: Angela (Bill) Phillips, Bryan (Gina) Smith, Rasonda Smith and Travis Smith; step grandson: Michael (Michelle) Goforth; great grandchildren: JT and Seth McCoy, Jacob and Sarah Smith, Shane and Cierra Goforth; she was a special granny to Megan and Timothy Martin; also left to mourn her caregiver: Debbie Martin and special friend: Joyce Weyl.
