He is survived by sons Albert, Paul, Jerry, Jimmy, Freddie and Lester Lawson; daughter Patricia Barnett, Anna Fields and Colleen Caldwell, along with 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ located on Big Branch Road in Viper, Ky. Singing will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 29. Brashear Callahan Funeral Home of Viper is in charge of arrangements. ********************************************************* Ruby Lee Jones Ruby Lee Jones, 68, of Hazard, passed away on Monday, October 25.     2. Jackie Riley, 78, of North Vernon passed away at 4:25 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Kindred Hospital South in Indianapolis. Born August 7, 1932 in Craft Colley, KY she was the daughter of the late Elihue and Betty E. Sergent Stallard. She married Lester Riley in August 7, 1947 in Whitesburg, KY. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2008. She worked and retired from the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center where she worked in Dietary. She worked as a CNA at the Jennings Hospital and Versailles Nursing Home. She was a member of the Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Kurtz, IN, and the Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge Society. She lived in Cincinnati in her younger years. She enjoyed flowers, wildlife, cooking, bird watching, going to Brown County State Park. She is survived by her three daughters, Theresa Gabaree of Salem, Valera Schafer of Madison, Peggy Wilson of North Vernon and a son, Jeffrey Riley of Scipio; grandchildren, Chris Wilson, Malisa Higdon, Leslie Peacock, Chastidy Harvey, Lindsay Harrison, Jennifer Hill, Brian Schafer, Kristin Panning, Justin Cline, Robbie Madden, La Keisha Madden and Damian Riley and 13 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Kathie Murrell; brothers and sisters, Pearlie Craft, Limbille Stallard, Margie Blair, James Stallard, Iba Lee Lanham, Andrew Stallard and Goldie Stallard. Funeral Information Funeral services will be on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Reverends Darrell Stidham, Eugene Day, Arnold Bates, and Arthur Amburgey officiating. He is remembered for working together with local, state and national officials, regardless of their party affiliation, for a better quality of life for eastern Kentucky. Gorman built and operated the first broadcast television station in eastern Kentucky, which he sold to WYMT in 1985. He also operated a cable television system and had developed real estate. He helped promote the construction of Buckhorn Lake Dam and State Resort Park, making trips down the Kentucky River with friends to gain attention for the neod of flood control. Bill Gorman deeply loved Hazard and the people of Hazard, and he truly felt that Hazard was the best little city in the country. Mayor Gorman is survived by his wife, Nan H. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel. *************************************************************** Marie Duff Collins Hazard Herald (Ky) Marie Duff Collins, born March 7, 1923, departed this life on Sunday, October 10 at the Hazard ARH. She was 87 years of age at the time of her passing. Marie was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late Jimmy Duff and the late Ethel Eversole Duff. She was a life long resident of Perry County and was a member of the Lower Second Creek Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Collins and sisters Geneva Duff and Millie Clark. She is survived by sons Steve Collins and Frances of Indianapolis, Indiana; Lida Collins of Indianapolis, Indiana; Ishmael Collins and Nancy of Hazard; Sam R. Collins and Mary of Big Creek; Cecil Collins of Krypton and Jessie Collins and Melissa of Hazard; daughter Ethel Jeanette Runyon and Danny Joe of Henderson, Ky.; brothers French Duff of Campton, Ky. and James Duff of Florida; sister Nellie Collins of Indianapolis, Indiana; 19 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives and friends survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 12 at 11 a.m. at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home on East Main Street with Rev. Merill David Collins officiating. The burial will follow in the Eversole Cemetery located at Lower Second Creek. He is survived by his wife, Nannie Belle Napier; daughters Denise Napier and Maria Sue Bush and husband Elmer; sons Herman "P.Jib" Dean Napier and wife Mona Pearl and Tom "T.J." Napier and wife Cristy; sisters Ruby, Lizzie and Phronie; brother Arnold along with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 9 at the Busy Pentecostal Church of God. The funeral service will be at the church at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 10 with J.L. McIntosh and Carl Wayne Johnson officiating.
