She was born in Fisty, Kentucky on April 19, 1923 to Zachary Washington Ritchie and Susan Hall Ritchie. She was preceded in death by her 1st Husband - Joseph Russell Taylor; 2nd husband: John S. Combs; grandson: Ryan Cooper; sons-in-law: Larry Brown, Junior Ferguson and Walter Cooper; brothers: Sid, Roy, Austin; sisters: Beatrice, Coleen, Sally, Ina and Hazel. She is survived by 2 sons: Ronnie (Mable) Combs and Sonny (Tina) Combs; 3 daughters: Dermalene Brown, Adonis Jo Montgomery and Gloria Jean Cooper; sisters: Ada Owens and Bethel Ritchie; 12 grandchildren: Chuck Ferguson, Candace Howard, Larryn Brown, Morgan Cooper, David Montgomery, Paul Montgomery, Mike Smith, Angie Smith, Dalton Combs, MicKayla Combs, Shane Combs and Alisha Combs; 14 great grandchildren. TIMOTHY LEE TACKETT,age 50, of Kendallville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at his residence in Kendallville. Tim was born in Melvin, Kentucky on June 19, 1960 to the late Clyde Tackett and Norine (Johnson) Bowers. He was employed in the maintenance department with Lutheran Life Villages (formerly Shepherd of the Hill nursing home) and The Lamplighter both in Kendallville. Tim enjoyed staying busy working with his hands and doing odd jobs around the house and for others. He loved spending time with his nephew, Cody and taking care of his dog, Sadie. Tim was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.

William Boyd "Punk" Combs, age 71, of 622 West Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at his residence. Born September 7, 1939, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Ethel M. Sams Combs. He was a retired molder for Acadia Polymers of Iron Gate and a member of Central Advent Christian Church. He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid baseball fan. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world. Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth. Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed. "How is it that there is no work going on here?" I asked. "So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments." "How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked. "Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord." "What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked. "If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead, and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy." "And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity." Born in Monroe County, Ky., on February 20, 1945, he was the son of Leslie and Marie Cornett. Charles was retired from the Kentucky State Police, as a former Ky. State Police Deputy Commissioner and Consultant for the LKLP Community Action Council. He was also a retired basketball coach at Bethel Christian Academy, Sunday School Director and Member of the Big Branch Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He is survived by his wife- Lana Cornett; 2 sons- Charles Leslie Cornett and Justin Paul (Shae) Cornett; 1 daughter- Leah Michelle (Jeff) Fugate; 2 brothers- Hagan (Joy) Cornett and Frankie (Teresa) Cornett; 1 sister- Caren Cornett; 9 grandchildren- Joel (Abbie), Jeremy, Jonathan, Leah, Laura, Chip, Ricky, Anna and Aiden.
