Interment Luther Begley Cemetery - Buckhorn, Kentucky Age 83 Oscar Hudson, age 83, of Buckhorn, Kentucky, passed away January 8, 2011 at the Ky River Medical Center at Jackson, Kentucky. He was born in Amburgey, Kentucky on March 16, 1927 to I.V. Hudson and Melda Mullins Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son: Teddy Hudson. He is survived by his wife: Betty Hudson; 3 sons: Keith (Alexander) Hudson, Anthony (Amanda) Herald, Harlan Hudson and Jonathan Trent; daughters: Toni (Warren) Draughn and Jerica Couch; brother: R.B. Hudson; sister: Thelma (Solomon) Richardson; 7 grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11AM, Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Don Pratt and David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Luther Begley Cemetery at Buckhorn, Kentucky. Friends may call for visitation at the chapel, Monday from 6-9PM with singing and prayer service at 7PM.

    2. Donna Jean Noble, age 42, of Kimmell, IN passed away January 5, 2011 at 3:35 PM in The University of Chicago Hospital. She passed away following a long battle with Leukemia. Donna was born November 21, 1968 in Chicago, IL to Randall & Gladys Ann (Owens) Noble. She graduated from Cordia High School in Knott County, KY and later moved to Noble County, IN. Donna had worked for Smokercraft in New Paris for over nine years & had also worked part time for several years at Owens grocery store in Ligonier. She is survived by her spouse of over 27 years: Fleetus Pridemore Jr. of Kimmell, IN; 1 Daughter: Bessie Ann (Ron Slone) Pridemore of Kimmell, IN; 1 Grandson: Logan James Pridemore-Slone at home; Mother: Gladys Ann Noble of Lakevilla, IL; Father: Randall Noble of Knott County, KY; 4 Siblings: Darlene (Richard) Kusek of Lakevilla, IL, Diane (Margie) Noble of Wonderlake, IL, Doris (Sammy) Amburgey of Knott County, KY, & Randall (Elizabeth) Noble of Chicago, IL; several nieces & nephews A memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 2PM at Yeager Funeral Home- 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN with Pastor Glen Patrick officiating.     3. Marcella went to Hindman High part of her high school years. It seem she had attended Garrett prior to Hindman. I remember her well since she and I were interested in the same young man, for a period of time. Anyone know how her father, Enoch was related to Beckham Combs? It seems there was some connection. "Big Daddy" Wirtz, 91, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, January 5 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Cassinelli Wirtz, in 1988, who lost her battle with cancer. He was born on April 12, 1919 in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Gus R. and Kate Capelli Wirtz. Mr. Wirtz was an Army veteran of WWII, arriving on Omaha Beach in France in 1942. He participated in both the allied invasion and the Battle of the Bulge, and was attached to the 91st Chemical Mortar Division. He was also trained to fight with lethal gas, which fortunately was replaced with TNT weapons. He spent his years after the war managing two movie theaters and a drive-in theater in Hazard, which he eventually bought. He moved to Richmond in the mid-1980's to be closer to his children and for treatment of his wife's cancer. While in Hazard, he served as chairman of the Housing Authority, the Hazard Airport Board, and four years as president of the Hazard Chamber of Commerce and received the honor of being named Man of the Year in 1971. He was also a member of the Hazard Kiwanis Club for 58 years. Mr. Wirtz was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church of Richmond. Mr. Wirtz is survived by one daughter, Phillis Adams, and her husband, Michael, and one son, Erman A. Wirtz, and his wife, Gina, all of Richmond. He also leaves his grandchildren, Michael Wayne Adams (Sherry), Brian Adams (Shelia), Jennifer Leigh Wirtz and Loran Marie Wirtz; his great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Austin, Brandon and Mary Carol Adams.     2. James "Jim" Gibson, 67, of Wolcottville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Mr. Gibson retired from Reliable Tool & Machine Company in Kendallville, and had also retired as a truck driver. He was an avid Nascar fan, who also loved riding his Harley Davidson, camping, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Jim also enjoyed taking his grandchildren, Lainy "Fuzzhead", Sammi Jo, and Connor to preschool. He was born July 25, 1943, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Sam and Elsie (Moore) Gibson. On January 7, 2000, in LaGrange County, he married Tina (Charles) Gibson. She survives at their residence in Wolcottville. Also surviving are six daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Robert Schlatter of Wolcottvile, Tyana Polly of Rome City, Jessica and Seth Leins of Wawaka, Michelle Gibson of Goshen, Amy Gibson of Michigan, and Karen Gibson of Fort Wayne; five sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy Gibson of Ligonier, Shon Gibson of Rome City, Lonnie Gibson of Wolcottville, Larry and Jen Polly, Jr. of Helmer, and Casey Polly of Wolcottville; 28 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a special cousin, Jasper Case of Wolcottville; and a sister-in-law, Thelma Meyers of Rome City. She was born on July 15, 1917, in Sylvester, Texas, the daughter of the late Eugene and Lotha Kiser. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Stanley Combs and siblings; Roy, Raymond, Cecil, Glenn, James and Dorothy Sue. Surviving relatives include her brother, Freddie Kiser of Munday, Texas, her daughter, Cathy (Richard) Hansell of Indianapolis and son, Stanley Ray (Carolyn) Combs of Coral Springs, Florida; three grandchildren, John (Jill) Combs, Joshua Combs and Allison Krug (Joe) Koss and great-grandson Jordan Combs. Rachel graduated from high school in Sylvester, Texas in 1936 and graduated in 1939 from the Hendrick Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Abilene, Texas. She served as a Lieutenant in the Army with the 16th Evacuation Hospital Unit in Northern Africa and Italy from 1941-1946, earning 4 battle stars. After the war, she married and became a homemaker, devoting her life as a wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Visitation will be Saturday, January 8th at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with services at 10:00 a.m. and a brunch following. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, Kentucky. Charles served his country in the Army, he was a member of Mentor Baptist Church, and he loved to sing and play music. He is Preceded in Death by his wife Allie Williams.
