Mrs. Ritter was born in Hindman, Kentucky on April 27, 1951 to the late Paul and Nellie (Moore) Sturdivant. She graduated from Lakeland High School and Ivy Tech, Fort Wayne, in 1983 with an associates degree in computer programing. Pauline owned Tubby's Pizza in Rome City and Churubusco for about 4 years in the early 1990's. She was a secretary at Deca-Tech in Kendallville and Eaton Controls for a period of time and she was a real estate agent for Colwell-Banker, Shrock Real Estate from 1996-2008. Pauline loved spending time with all ten of her grandchildren at the same time. She loved kids, spending time with family and helping others. She also liked going to stock car races, playing cards, working word search and crossword puzzles. She attended the New Freedom Baptist Church in Lagrange. Joyce Ann Hicks, 48, of Ligonier died unexpectedly Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker, and had previously worked at Parker Hannifin in Ligonier. She was baptized in the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Kimmell. She was born March 9, 1962, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to Ed and Hazel May (Taylor) Beverly. On February 14, 2004, in Kimmell she married Mark T. Hicks. He survives in Ligonier. Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jamie and Darin Harmon of Ligonier and Katie Jacobs of Ligonier; two sons, Jonathan Jacobs of Rome City and Donovan Jacobs of Jackson, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; eight sisters, Hettie Parsons, of Michigan, Velma Ringwald of California, Brenda Ringwald of Ohio, Carrie Mullins of Kentucky, Diane Keltch of Kentucky, Barb Dick of Ohio, Peggy Rogers of Kentucky, and Ada Johnson of Alabama; one brother, Andy Beverly of Kentucky; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Hicks, Jr. and Mable Hicks of Ligonier. She was born March 21, 1950, in Martin, the daughter of Hester Slone of Drift, Kentucky & the late Rush Slone. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters: Heather Redmon of Printer, Kentucky, Rena Caudill and Kimberly Cole, both of McDowell, Kentucky; five brothers: Rush Slone, Jr. and Ellis Slone, Jr., both of McDowell, Kentucky, Leon Slone of Melvin, Kentucky, Reon Slone of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Clark Slone of Knott County, Kentucky; four sisters: Lisa Stumbo of Drift, Kentucky, Shirley Newsome of Melvin, Kentucky, Lily Morris of Martin, Kentucky and June Slone of Louisville, Kentucky; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and two sons: Darryl Little and Billy Ray Little.
