JUST POSTING THE OBIT FOR KATHY AMES FROM THE XENIA (OH) DAILY GAZETTE 3/21/07. Kathy Flinchum Ames, 52, of New Vienna, OH went home to be with the Lord 3:03 p.m., March 19, 2007 at Miami Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. Her husband, Wayne Ames, whom she married Sept. 3, 1977, survives. Mrs. Ames was born July 30, 1954 in Covington, KY, the daughter of Marvin and Jackie Mann Flinchum of Dayton, KY. She received her bachelor of science in elementary education from Morehead State University. She received an associate degree in accounting and business from Southern State Community College. Mrs. Ames owned and operated Ames Taxes and Bookkeeping. Prior to that, she worked several years for H&R Block. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Wilmington (OH) where she had served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member and past president of the Clinton County Homemakers, and past president of the Ohio FCE (Homemakers). In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ames is survived by a son, Bobby (Regina) Ames of Dayton, OH! ; three brothers, Doug Flinchum of Dayton, KY, Jay (Anna) Flinchum of Miramar, FL, and David (Mary) Flinchum of Darns Town, MD; ten grandchildren, Justin Newton, Chelsea Staup, Christina Ames, Michael Staup, Vennasa Ames, Jordan Staup, Bartley Ames, Victoria Staup, Brandon Staup, and Destiney Ames; as well as many other friends, family, and loved ones. A brother, Rick Flinchum, and a grandchild, Dallas Hunter Ames, precede her in death. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., March 23, 2007 at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 550 Virginia Circle, Wilmington, OH with Brother Wayne Woody officiating. Burial will be in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. -- 8 p.m., March 22, 2007 at the Immanuel Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church, 550 Virginia Circle, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
