Greetings Robert Though I have no connections to the Tanner surname except that my sister is married to an AYLOR, which is an associated line to the TANNER'S. My B-I-L is Clyde Aylor and his grandfather was a TANNER. You would do better to search BOONE COUNTY for your information since the Tanner family was one of the founding families of Florence, Ky. They came into Boone County from Virginia and founded the Hopeful Lutheran Church. If you GOOGLE Hopeful Church Boone County, Ky. you will find some histories with associated surnames. I believe that Epherin (sp?) Tanner was one of the founders. He was married to Susanna House. These families also founded other Lutheran churches in Boone County including the Hebron church, which by the way, is where the airport is located. Hope this helps.
