My first ancestor in Covington is Herman Henry WISCHER/WISKER b. Alhausen Germany in 1833. first wife was Caroline STAGGENBORG & 2nd was Bernadina DUNHOFT/DUENHOFT/DUENHOEFT. Of 16 children, 5 survived to become adults, only 3 married, George married Mary RUDD/RUDDE, William married Mary Elizabeth HELLMANN & Josephine married Martin WIEHOFF. My HELLMANN ancestors came from the Visbek, Ellenstedt, Goldenstedt, Vechta & Oythe areas of Oldenburg to NKY. Relatives arrived one by one beginning in the 1860's. Connecting surname of WILKENS from Visbek partly settled in NKY & Cincinnati, some BEYER desc. later in NKY The DUNHOFT/DUENHOFT/DUENHOEFT families also began arriving from the Oldenburg area also in the 1860's to Cinti & NKY. Currently working on the connecting families which include SCHMIDT & BISHOP/BISCHOF in the NKY area.
