Greetngs to all, Very curious to know if anyone is a descendant, or is researching the Johann Gerhard JANSEN family of Covington, Kentucky who resided at 712 Greer Street. Johann Gerhard was born 5 January 1844 in Emsland, Hanover and eventually emigrated and married in 1871 in Covington to a Clara Grothaus(?). He was a saloonist and had a total of 6 children: Henry (1872); Joseph (1876); Bertha (1878); George (1880); Mary (1883); and Clara (1886). Does anyone know if this family or the descendants remained in Covington? Did any member of this family move to Cincinnati, perhaps? Would enjoy chatting about this family. This Johann Gerhard Jansen is the uncle of my great grandmother Margaretha Adelheid Schwagmann who married a Ferdinand Mormann in Mother of God Church in 1891 in Covington.
