Greetings Diana A tobacconist would be a person who delt in tabacco on a retail basis, probably ran a tobacco shop and had cigar makers working for or with him. He had nothing to do with growing tobacco. My g-gf was from Baden, Germany and was a cigar maker as was his son, my grandfather.
