Susan, I've lost your email address (sorry). I was wondering about a discrepency I have found in the Busse data. I found a death certificate for a Louis Busse. It's the date quoted by Henry Heinzmann and I believe by you two as well. Yet, the age at time of death does not match our Bernard Ludwig Busse. There are also a few others questions: Who was Louise Busse's mom? Anna Caspar or Margaret Brungs. Were these two women married to the same man? Louis Busse, age 55, Laborer, b. Germany, parents name not listed, 20 Holman Street was residence at time of death, date of death: 28 AUG 1901. Intended burial date: 30 AUG at Mother of God Cemetery. I have not yet had the time to try and see if Mother of God church has an entry in their church records for his death which may show a different age. It is a possibility it is a transcription error. Louise was born 05 OCT 1863. Henry Heinzmann has her parents as Bernard Ludwig Busse and Anna Caspar. Ann Caspar is said to have died 14 SEP 1864 in Madison, Jefferson, Indiana - soon after Louise's birth. He has not found the marriage of Margaret Brungs to Bernard L. Busse yet. I haven't found it yet either. It appears that Henry has taken the Busse line back to Johann Bernard Busse, who died in 28 DEC 1828 in Ellenstedt, Vechta, Oldenburg, Germany. Susan, have you seen this data? Ever contacted this man to find his sources? I may write him in the next week or two. Anyway. I was wondering what sources you two had on these two wives of Bernard. Here's the information I have on Bernard's family if we accept Louis is Bernard Ludwig and he did have both Anna Casper and Margaret Brungs as spouses. You can see I have a lot missing, I was planning on doing more research in the next two weeks. If either of you can add to this data, please do let me know. Bernard Ludwig Busse, born about 1830 in Oldenburg, died 28 AUG 1901, buried 29th or 30th AUG (MOG has different date than death cert) at Mother of God Cemetery. 1st wife Anna Casper children: 1. Louise b. 5 OCT 1863 (according to death cert she was born in Covington, KY - marriage of her parents in Jefferson County, Indiana as well as her mothers death less than year after her birth would seem to that she was probably born there in Jefferson County - though they could've temporarily been in Covington at that time). She married Frank Heving on 27 NOV 1882 in Kenton County, KY. She passed away 18 FEB 1948 and was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kenton County, Kentucky. 2nd wife Margaret Brungs (b. JUN 1842 in Hanover, buried at Mother of God on 18 OCT 1909) children: 2. Lany?, born about 1872 in Kentucky 3. Mary, born about 1873 in Kentucky 4. Annie L, born 24 SEP 1876 in Kenton County, Kentucky, died before the 1880 census 5. Joseph, born about 1877 in Kentucky, buried 05 MAY 1924 at Mother of God Cemetery 6. Margaret, born about 1879 in Covington, Kentucky, died 07 AUG 1906 in Kenton County, KY and buried 10 AUG 1906 in Mother of God Cemetery. I hope both of you are well and I do apologize to the Kenton County mailing list for having to send this out to everyone. Of course if anyone else is researching Busse's please do contact me. Cheers, LeeAnn
