I've found them in the censuses of both Campbell & Kenton Counties. Sarah Mardis Lipscomb last enumerated in 1860 Campbell Co.; Joel in 1870 Kenton Co., living with married daughter Mary Ann Perry. I've checked the available microfilms for wills, probates & settlements in both counties without success - BUT there are years missing in both counties. If anyone has access to cemetery books, I'd REALLY appreciate a check.

Greetings Diana A tobacconist would be a person who delt in tabacco on a retail basis, probably ran a tobacco shop and had cigar makers working for or with him. He had nothing to do with growing tobacco. My g-gf was from Baden, Germany and was a cigar maker as was his son, my grandfather. Hi. I'd like to know if someone could tell me what a tobacconist would be. I don't know if it's someone who raises tobacco, or maybe a broker, or something. My great-grandmother was Amelia Hill, her father acc. to the censuses was William Hill. His occup. was listed as tobacconist. If anybody would have any information about her or her family, I would be grateful to find something out. I know she married George Nunnery in 1880, but I'm not sure where he came from, or anything about his family. Her second husband was my great grandfather.(Adam Bickel). Thank you in advance for any information. Diana

Lindsey The answers you seek will be found at the Independence Court House. Kenton County has two county seats, Covington and Independence, but you probably already know that since you are looking at real estate in that area. Civil records are in Covington, but ALL land records are in Independence (at least they were a few years back). Ask your real estate agent for the parcel number, and the court workers can direct you to the books you will need to search. They were very helpful to us. Good luck.

Found George Haack and Nora F 1930 census on 4 Apr 1930 Covington renting at 613 Em St. He is age 29 and she is age 22 and a daughter 3 years and 11 months. So my guess would be marriage when/about 1925. But you probably have access to 1930 census and Ancestry so that is why the 1973 on. I don't have a library card for Kenton Co, have you check Hamilton County, OH and Campbell County. Non of my printed marriage records books do not match the dates you are looking for. Could anyone check to see if there is a death record for Richard Collins, M.D., born 1792, died 1872? I know he had lived in Kenton County, as well as Campbell, Boone, and Carroll Co's. His wife, Susan Dell Scott Collins, preceeded him in death, in Boone Co, in 1849, but I find no death record for Richard in Boone Co.
