I have been looking for you and found a little more information. There seems to be another person searching for this family. A Cheryl TOLOF. She posted a query on the OWEN surname list back in 2006. I found Anna BRADFORD living in Wisconsin in 1880 as a servant. I also found the one brother William in 1880 living in Minnesota. In both of the census's it gives the father's birthplace as Kentucky and the mother as Wales. It appears that Anna was the oldest child. There is a birth record for her on the Kenton County Library Website. It lists her birth as 12 December, 1859. Mother:Ellen OWEN Father:E.BRADFORD. In the 1860 Census for Covington there is the family of "Amasiah BRAFFORD" age 22, Steam Boat Engineer b.Kentucky. His wife is Ellen, age 21, b.Wales. And a daughter Anna, age 6/12, b.Kentucky. After that they seem to disappear. I can not find them in 1870. You might contact the other girl searching. She is from Canada. Author: Margaret_Toole Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.kenton/2994.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi again. I did some more searching. I used GOOGLE and tried to find a "Captain BRADFORD" who was a steamboat Capt. and came up with nothing. You said the children were born in Covington in the mid-1860's. They weren't orphaned until the mid-1870's so they should show up in or around Covington, Kenton Co. or Campbell Co. in the 1870 census(under the best scenario). You just don't have enough to go on. Your best bet is to work backwards from one of the children. Which one are you descended from? Start from you and give me all the information you have on your direct ancestor and then I can do some more searching. Take William, John or Anna. Give their spouses and childrens names. Once I find them in a census I can try to work back. As for the MORGAN connection....the Morgan horse originated in New Jersey(I did a search on the internet). There are a few hundred MORGANS in Covington, Kentucky in the census and it doesn't list occupation. Let me know if you can supply! the spouse and children information.
