If so, I grew up with the children Frances, Charlotte and Mary. Their brother Mayo died in the WWII. Can give you some info but mostly memories of good times, no b.d. or anything like that. I spent great summer days at the Taylor homestead. Have a couple of pictures of Frances and Shotty(Charlotte) I think. Gillespie is also one of my surnames. If this Taylor family is the one you are researching perhaps I can help. Jennie

    2. Linda Boorom
    3. Just a thought, it could be possible that a former neighbor gave the information in one place & thus some discrepancy in ages (although age discrepancies are common from one census record to another). My husband's ancestor is listed twice in the 1860, with his brother-in-law and also as a farm laborer with another household. I guess that's why I can't find him at all in 1850 nor his father in 1820, but they were there, other records confirm that. My father is not listed in the 1930 census, but he was 1 month old. My husbands father cannot be located in the 1920, but he was somewhere....... Hubby says "probably fishing" but that census was in Jan., so don't know what the weather was like in Jan. 1920. My g-great grandmother can't be found in 1930, nor several other relatives known to have been living in Kenton Co. at the time. If you find them twice, at least you found them. Census records are great, but they aren't perfect. 2. Hello All... The age difference was also who you talked to Mom or Dad...when the moms gave the info they were usually right on the money, but dads never remembered just how old the youngins were...hahaha.. My grandfather told me, when I was first asking him about his family, that he never could remember his brothers and sisters birthdays just who was older and could boss him...hahahaha... So even the family members could remember the birth order but not the ages...LINDA...

    2. Dear Winifred, Could be possible. Look up at the heading of the Federal Census on top of page and it should tell you the date when each one of the Federal Census was taken. Then you would be able to possibly gauge if they moved or if this is another family. 2. Jan Lester
    3. There are many examples of families being counted twice in the same census. This is usually due to a move, but there are other reasons as well. One of my SENTIF ancestor families is actually listed in 2 different states in 1860 because they moved from Cincinnati, OH to Newport, KY (directly across the Ohio River.) The date the count was made is usually listed at the top of the census page, but many times the recorder did not fill this in. Don't get too hung up on the fact that the listed ages don't always agree. My Frank Sentif is listed as 47 in the Cincinnati enumeration and as 49 in the Newport listing. I know it's the same family as all the names & occupations match up. Most of the birth dates, however, are a year or 2 off. 3. Am looking for information on g-g-g grandmother, Louisa Kneipp Yeager 1830-1917. She was born in Germany and died in Kentucky. Could also be spelled Joerger. She was married to Nicholas Yeager/Joerger. What I am mainly looking for is when she came from Germany and if she brought children with her. Or if she was married before she married Nicholas. There is a question on the birth date of at least one of her children. Barbara was born in either 1857 or 1861. She married Nicholas in 1860 in John's Hill. I haven't been able to locate a record of Barbara's birth. It could be that Barbara was from a previous marriage of Nicholas too. Any information would be appreciated. Carol
