R. home 421 Hermann, Central Covington. I also saw a Robt B. Woods - ironworker living at the same address. Just for fun I looked in the 1886 City Directory for Robt & Susan Woods. I'm not sure when your Susannah married Robt Woods but there was a Robert Woods - laborer living at 99 E 2nd and a Susan Woods - Tobacconist - living at the same address. If you send me your email address I can email you a copy of the pages from the City Directory. Debi Snow

    3. Renee - what Harod family members are you looking for? I have an Emily Herod/Herrod/Harrod who born about 1838 in Kenton County, KY and died October 17, 1924 in Kenton County, Covington KY. She married my Gr-grandfather William Crook, b. abt. 1828 in Boone County, KY. I believe Emily's parents to be William and Mary Harrod. I also believe that Emily had at least one sister - Mary Ann Herrod. Would be interested in connecting with you or anyone researching the Herod Family of Kenton County and Kentucky. Thanks. 3. Hi Bob, I don't have access to the city directory but the 1920 census shows the following family. Samuel P. George, Head, Age 54, working Lumber Co, Born KY Henrietta George, Wife, Age Age 51, Born KY Marcella George, Daughter, Age 13, Born OH Manford George, Son, Age 11, Born OH Kentucky Death Records show: Samuel P. George died September 2, 1929 at age 64. Henrietta Geoege died January 8, 1933 at age 64 The same family is found in Covington, Kenton County in the 1910 and 1900 census. Going back to the 1880 census I find what appears to be your Samuel George listed as age 15 and living in Covington with parents Peter and Emma George and a bunch of siblings. 1. Re: [KYKENTON] Re: KYKENTON-D Digest V05 #105
    2. Bob, I couldn't help but want to see if I could locate your grandfather's name since Linden Grove cemetery records are online through the Kenton County Public Library web site. Go to http://apu.kenton.lib.ky.us/gen/gendb.php and search for last name George in the Linden Grove records. I saw the burial info for your grandmother Henrietta and also for the Sept. 4, 1929 burial of a Samuel George, born Demossville, KY, aged 64 and married. I looked at the 1920 KY census and found the following family on Steward Street in Covington. Based on this, it looks like the Samuel George buried at Linden Grove may be your missing grandfather. Samuel George, head, 54, male, white, born KY, parents born KY, laborer at lumber company Henrietta George, wife, wife, 51, female, white, born KY, father born PA, mother born KY Marcella George, daughter, 13, female, white, born OH, parents born KY Manford George, son, 11, male, white, born OH, parents born KY Hope that helps! 2. Dear Vivian, I would contact a museum or art museum to see if anyone there has heard of your grandfather especially if he did glaspainting. They may know more about this. The Cincinnati Art League may have a file on your grandfather too. Its worth a shot to try to see if anyone of these places knows. However, I don't know if this is your Carl because my Rookwood reference books are in storage right now while we build bookshelves (wouldn't you know it). However, you might try your local library or a book dealer with books on Rookwood to see if you can find bio information on that Carl Schmidt. I don't know if he died in 1916 or not, but know that some of his work is dated early 1900's. Maybe he's the son of your Karl/Carl, however. Anyway, if the Rookwood painter is your Carl, you might see his work in a good gallery that handles Rookwood (Cincinnati Art Galleries or Treadway Gallery in Cincinnati) or at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
