In regard to the birth records, it is not clear to me whether the first name listed in the first column is that of the child or of the father. Having a difference of opinion with a family member. The record in question lists a Albert Forline, mother Lillie Brussman TIA Greg West

Thanks, LeeAnn! I appreciate the effort. I was up there last week but didn't go downtown to the library. I was afraid that, with the big music festival, downtown would be just too crowded. Hello again Darla. I finally had time to go to the Cincinnati library, and when I looked in the index I did not see Schleutker (or my Hemann ancestor that is listed in the Tracer as a member). As stated earlier, some libraries also have access in the library to Ancestry.com <http://Ancestry.com> including local libraries for Kenton County KY, Campbell County KY, Hamilton County (Cincinnati) OH and Clermont County OH. I don't think any of them charge for the service but you may need to enter your library card.number. I believe the LDS Library in Louisville does have access to Ancestry.com There may have been a small charge I don't remember.
Yes some of the LDS or should I say most of the LDS FHL have Ancestry.com The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints paid for a subscription to Ancestry.com for all their FHL. Church members and non church members can & do use Ancestry.com for genealogical pursuits. LDS still have microfilms for someone to rent for a period of time which is still the best source when looking for something specific as they are microfilm copies of the original source. Hi; I believe I've seen mention of this subject on both addressed mailing lists, so am sending the same message to all. It is true that you may be able to use Ancestry.com or AncestryPlus or Ancestry's Library edition through an LDS family history center near you - and if you have one you are very fortunate. However, many public libraries also have access to one of those. Ancestry is not available from your home computer, however, unless you have a privately paid subscription. If you have a public library card, by all means, check your local library's availability. Even if you have to go into a branch facility to access Ancestry, it's well worth a trip! Best wishes, Ann Bergelt Florida
Hello... Well I guess it has been awhile since I have been to my local FHC...I know that they had put in several computers but I had not used them very much because I had been doing internet research at home...huh???...have to go check it out... LINDA...Oregon
Hello All... I have never heard of any library that has a membership to Ancestry.Com that they have available to the public...LDS does not have this in their libraries either... LDS has access to all the microfilm tapes that you can arrange to rent for a period of time and have it sent to the LDS Library of your choice for a fee...they have reader machines available to use as well as machines that will make copies of the pages that your information is on... On the Internet you can gain access to the LDS Genealogical Website called Family Search and alot of images to census reports and other information is availble there for research...but for the most part you need to go to the LDS Family History Centers, (FHC) are located at the LDS Churches...they can be used by anyone... Some of the larger FHC do have a large amount of microfilm tapes that they maintain on site of the Census reports and Soundexs, one of the best ones that I have been to is the one located in Los Angeles out on Santa Monica Blvd.... Of course the most famous is the Genealogical Library in Salt Lake City, UT...I had an opportunity to spend 9 - 8 hr days there a few years ago and it was fabulous...but I can say, except for the books, that have not been microfilmed, you can order everyone of those tapes to come to your local FHC through out the year... Good luck in your research and may all your Ancestors turn up in the near future... LINDA...Oregon
