I knew a Wachs family who lived in Park Hills. Don't remember the mother's name(possibly Nell) but the father was Ed. They had a daughter named Marynell. She married a lawyer and lived in Miami, Fl. She died several years ago. Ed was in the Navy during WW11. Don't know much else.

Dear Friends, I am wondering if anyone on the list has easy access to this book and could do a lookup for me. I am looking for the book, Records of Abstracts, Pensions, Papers, Pertaining to Soldiers of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Indian Wars Who Settled in Kenton County, Kentucky, compiled by Annie Walker Burns, 1932. I am seeking mention of William Stephens/Stevens. If you can help, please contact me off-list. Thanks, Juli

I grew up on Elm Street in Covington, Ky. A Lozier family were neighbors. They had Virginia and Charles and another son, whose name I do not remember. Virginia was killed in an automobile accident quite a few years ago and Charles is in a local nursing home. Do you know where your Loziers lived in Covington? Betty

Germany 1840, in KY 1865 where he had son named Charles William COOK. He MAY have been Covington KENTON. Who was Henrys wife? In 1880 Henry R COOK was living in Cincinnati HAMILTON OH, where he was a carriage trimmer with family named Henry R. COOK 40 b. Germany Eliza 30 b. France Charles 17 b. KY Harry A. 7 b. KY Dollie 5 b. OH Emma 2 b. OH. Because Eliza is only 13 years older than charles, and in the diffence of age between Charles and Harry, I don't believe she is Charles mother. Charles was living in West Covington KENTON KY in 1900 census with his wife and children. I thought he may have "gone home" to be with other family members of his mother and father. HELP! Don't make me tell you the story of the Gypsies the family swear kidnapped Charlie when he was about 2 and carried off to OH, where they found him with a CARLIN family. COOK who was born 1840 in Germany. In 1880 cincinnati HAMILTON OH census they are HENRY R. 40 b. Germany Carriage Trimmer Eliza 30 b. France Charles 17 b. KY Harry A. 7 b. KY Dollie 5 b. OH Emma 2 b. OH. I wonder if Henry R. COOK immgrated as Heinrich R KOCH. As it doesn't say where or when he immigrated I have no idea if he was a child at time of immigration. Eliza is said to be born in France. as she is 30, and Charles is 17, I don't think she is HIS mothers. Also there is a gap of 13 years between Charles and Harrys births. On Charle death cert it says Covington KENTON KY as his birth place, but that may not be accurate. He died in Kenwood HAMILTON OH 1953-55, but after living in OH for a least 10-14 years from 1875 to ? , he was back in KY, 1900 , living in West Covington KENTON with his wife and children. He was also there in 1910. He was supposed to have been in the NATIONAL GUARD there, and wounded in some big RIOT, where he lost sight in his eye. Not sure when he moved back to HAMILTON OH. His wife was Estelle GOOD b.ca 1870 in HAMILTON OH to Joseph GOOD & Josephine WHITTIKIND. My questions are mostly related to Henry R. COOK/KOCH. When did Henry R come to this country from Germany? Was he married before Eliza? Is Eliza CharlesWilliam's mother, and if not, who is. Who are Henry R.'s parents Where did Henry R. die, and when? GINNY 2 at ginnynumbertwo@yahoo.com

Surnames: Brown Classification: Biography Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BBB.2ACI/1991 Message Board Post: from Beloit Daily News April 10, 1916, City of Beloit, County of Rock, State of WI It took R. E. Brown, who hails from Covington, Ky, less than thirty minutes to get in jail after arriving in Beloit yesterday say the police. The Kentuckian visited a shoe shine parlor in East Grand avenue owned by Pete Harris. He saw a sign on the front door which possessed him with the information that he could get a polish for a nickle. But he overlooked another sign in the interior of the place which says that Saturday and Sunday shines cost a dime. When Brown was told that his polish would cost him a dime he was vexed. The proprietor of the place claims that he used abusive language and that he struck one of the men. Police assistance was required to straighten out the mess that resulted. Brown was hustled off to jail. He pleaded guilty to a disorderly charge in court this morning and was fined $5 and costs.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BBB.2ACI/1583.1.2.2 Message Board Post: Theresa, Thanks for posting. I have your grandfather listed in my database as "James or Joseph Charles Neihoff", born 11 May 1898 in McCracken County. His wife was Louise Genevieve Van Ness, born about 1897 in Graves County. There are still questions about where John was born. According to his niece, Edna [Neihoff] Englert, he was born on the ship traveling to the US. John himself reported on several census forms that he was born in Kentucky. However, I have found no record of the Neihoffs being anywhere in Kentucky in the 1860 census. Oh well, more research is needed. I'll drop you an email and maybe we can share data. Jeff Nelson Paducah, KY
